On my 2004 Infiniti when the audio system failed you also lost control of HVAC because they were integrated. When I called the dealer they told me you could also buy a bezel that had its own HVAC controls and then you could use any audio system you wanted. The bezel was from a third party but the color match to the other interior plastics was excellent. So these integration woes are not new or unique to Ford.

I have a question but it's at the end of my explanation...

I'm going to wait till I do my oil change because they have to change the oil, and then they do an under carriage inspection because I have rust proofing and they have to check it once a year and make sure it's still whatever I don't know. And then I have a little wipes that they can use to make the windshield look like it has rain x or something, don't ask me I have no idea. So that'll all take an hour and half to two hours, so I'm assuming that they'll be able to start the update and then do all the other things while it's updating correct? Or does the update have to just sit there by itself for an hour and a half

They might do it all at the same time because computer is a laptop and they just plug it in car while they are changing the oil. Just ask your service department about it.

that's pretty strange of them, I guess they don't have anyone still waiting on a 2024 custom order, and they don't really care when they get them sold. at the least they should have done one of those first to make sure they had everything, and not wasted your time.

But really, they can put off fixing the unsold '24s until someone wants to buy them, and then just do the recall as part of dealer prep. I think it's nice to take care of someone who already bought a vehicle first.

So they did or they didn't? Can't imagine a dealership would tell you they are discounting the vehicle due to the hold and then go back on it.

If your profile is correct you are in California and there is no “loss of value” element to lemon laws in California.

They are very clear and the back up camera fix which will take approximately 90 minutes to complete does not even come close to beginning to qualify your vehicle as a lemon.

The sale price of any remaining 2024 Mavericks is in no way tied to any sort of lemon law claim you could make in California.

Yes, ACM update. Recall pays 1.1 hrs. The 1st one we did here took 1.5 hrs.

Those times are not uncommon. Being a retired Ford Master mechanic I ran across this many times....BUT we hooked up our diagnostic tool and went on to other jobs and let it run to completion, checking occasionally for any glitches, therefore the tech was not being cheated by the time differences.

It's not about that. It's just many of in addition to my actual claim. I know the lemon law and have moved forward. It's great that you are so informed. I'm not happy about doing this. It's a pain in the a__.

If what Am FM Radio said is correct, I don't listen to streaming music, just Am & FM radio. That would be why I never experienced a backup camera freeze perhaps.
