You got lucky that they covered it under warranty.

Most of the failures (Boots - Half Shafts) I have seen on this forum seem to be related to lift kits.

You should also change the title of this thread as they are not problematic on unmodified non lifted Mavericks.

To something like this: Axle Half / Shafts are problematic on lifted Mavericks
Not true- Plenty of non-lifted, non- modified mavericks have already have had their axles has documented throughout this site.

Also where I live it seems dealers are fine changing out parts that fail within the warranty period- They aren't looking up peoples skirts trying to find reasons to reject warranty work.

These are the threads with the word "axle" in the title

#1

My first warranty claim: Axle Replace - Right Front Axle is leaking everywhere & replace right front control arm

You lifted? They reported this issue on lifted trucks.. ..
So lifted truck caused Right Front Axle to leak

#2

Truck broke down! Front axle and transmission issue after 60 miles

Spoke to the service manager on Monday and they said it was an issue with the rear axle and that something wasn't "seated correctly" from the factory.

Exactly what FakeCowboy said. That's definitely ATF and it is definitely not related to a rear axle that doesn't exist.
So not an axle issue since there is no rear axle.

#3

Leaking started before the lift
Still a lifted truck

#4

$800 Front Axle Replacement

After taking my Maverick in for the second oil change and service at ~11k miles, I was told I have a leaking front axle boot.

I was then told that the axle replacement is not covered under warranty due to my having installed a front end lift/level kit.
Another Lifted Maverick

#5

Axle leaking

My wife got me the 2.5” Superlift for Christmas
Another Lifted Maverick

#6

Passenger side CV axle 2022 Maverick hybrid (Vehicle started shaking at 50 and stopped at 60 MPH violently.)

This one looks legit.

#7

Bad Passenger side CV axle, HRG 1.5” Level lift removed

Another Lifted Maverick

#8

Anyone else waiting for Axle replacement (for shimmy issue)?

This one looks legit.

#9

CV joint or axle failure

Posts in this thread seem fishy as the ones who state issues do not identify if they lifted or put on oversized tires.

Interesting thread about this issue. It appears that if you install lifts or bigger tires and your CV joints go bad then at least some dealers will not cover it under the warranty.

2023 Maverick Hybrid XLT Front Axle Wobble Journey

A new vehicle arrived at the dealership, orderer declined the order and then was sold as used? Kind of weird. Im guessing it was sold, shitty lift installed, no alignment done, and it drove like ass. Original owner put it back to stock and traded it in.
Seems fishy

#11

Need new CV Axle on 2023 hybrid with 33k miles

This one looks legit.

#12

CV axle and possibly engine and transmition mounts Issues

This one looks legit.

#13

C'mon Ford!! Another Bad CV Axle in Less Than 60K!!

This one looks legit.

So of the 13 threads stating Axle:

Five were lifted, five seem legit, two were fishy and one did not even have an axle issue at all.

Still seems that having a lifted truck or oversized tires increases your odds of having the CV joint and/or axle fail.

Also where I live it seems dealers are fine changing out parts that fail within the warranty period- They aren't looking up peoples skirts trying to find reasons to reject warranty work.
You got lucky.

Not dealers as they get paid for warranty work but Ford corporate is into finding ways to deny warranty claims I'm sure.
agree - look at the deep sleep issue, AGM batteries would solve most of the issues instead of "unknown cause, drive more"

So lucky to have a rig with a borked under-engineered axle set up but ok ! Hopefully folks in the aftermarket can assist in a more robust unit actually built with some headroom/tolerance -

Without some additional clearance this front bumper/valance would have been lost some time ago on basic dirt roads out in these parts.

Since the Tremor is also lifted, both factory and some owners after market, and if as @Master Blaster claims the front shafts are the same as AWD EBs should we expect a rash of Tremor failures on the horizon? Or not.
If any have been reported I've missed it, anyone?

Just got a video multi-point inspection done at the dealer- R/Front shaft boot is toast- This must be pretty new as I did not notice anything 3 weeks ago- Rig has 19k Miles - Fun times, looks like they are replacing it under warranty. 1.5 Inch Lift/FX4 -

My experience with the dealer was pound sand you must of broke it. Refused to do any warranty work. It had problems before it was sold spent more time in the shop then on the road. Spend all day waiting they spend 15 minutes can’t find anything then off you go the truck was shaking so bad it was like a bucking bronco. The dealership experience was so terrible I will never ever drive another ford first and last ford. Traded it in for a 2024 tundra. Problems with tundra so far nothing. Ford electrical problems steep problems battery problems ptu problems rear awd problems turning off in the snow was down right dangerous after that I was so done with it. I liked the size I liked how it drove but something that doesn’t work and the dealerships can’t get parts won’t do the repair even if you pay them. No we won’t warranty it then. Then offer to pay no we can’t get parts or won’t do it.
