So I was originally a hybrid order. I switched to ecoboost when available because I don’t really drive city and don’t really care about the gas milage I just wanted a cheap truck. I’m getting invoice price +no dealer fee and currently my build is about $23,074 after a rebate. My question is since switching to ecoboost I’m considering adding AWD and 4k as a might as well. It’s gonna cost me about $2700 more and I’ll probably never need AWD but the 4k could come in handy with a riding mower and some other landscaping stuff/ jet skis. Is it worth adding/ going to delay my order if I add it?

No,, except maybe AWD if you lunch Jet Ski's on steep slippery ramps. Just my 2 pennies

I think for your situation,
Just go for AWD and that's it. 4k tow is not needed unless you need it, in fact your will get a mile or two less with 4k tow(because of the lower gear ratio in slow speeds).

What ever you mentioned should be less than 2k pounds which AWD is rated.

I went with AWD since it’s really nice to have in the snow and upgraded to the 4k. With the price difference seemed liked it was worth doubling the towing capability.

AWD with the 4K makes sense. Puts some of the power where the weight is.

Not worth $2700 unless you need AWD and or 4k towing. 4k is not needed for jet ski or riding mower.

4K is worth it for the trans cooler, 7 pin connector, trailer brake controller, higher capacity radiator and heavy duty cooling fan alone in my opinion but that's only if you need or want AWD. I can accept a promotion and transfer to a snowy climate again and wanted to have AWD since I don't drive much during the week currently. Not sure too many people are seeing a hit to their mileage with 4k.

I make the same trip to see family about 25 weekends a year (400+ miles round trip) and have always seen this kind of mileage (35.2mpg this trip) unless there's a crazy headwind or traffic. This is an XL AWD w/4K and heavier (31lbs) Michelin Defender LTX M&S (235/65R18)

Ford Maverick AWD/ 4k worth it? 35.2mpg 4K Mav

It all depends,
I think Fx4 is more bang for the buck if you don't use 4k

Again it's all relative,
Some people rather have $1000 moon roof than a 4k or fx4

it's only worth it if you need it, sounds like you do not.
you will never recover the price paid when you sell.

Tough call. If price was not the main concern I'd say go for it. 4k towing gets you 7 pin connector and factory wiring, brake controller etc. AWD is rarely needed but if you live in an area where snow / ice can be an issue it's worth having. I think the resale value on AWD is going to be a lot higher than on a 2WD. Not that anyone NEEDS it, they just feel better with it.

But if the price is the main concern, then why add stuff if all you want is a cheap truck?

Personally, the hybrid mileage was my primary motivation, so I went with the FWD. But if they had offered AWD I would have gotten it.

If you think it's worth an extra 10% of the truck, sure.

I don’t need the AWD I’d only be adding it for the 4k package… I live in SC so never any snow. Seems like it’s best to just save the money

Yeah that’s where I’m at. The money isn’t really an issue it’s just I wanted to keep the truck as cheap as possible while still having the things I want. I feel like I can get by. It doesn’t snow here so I’m literally paying for AWD just to get the 4k. That’s what sucks in my mind lol.

I have the AWD and 4K tow, extremely pleased, especially the AWD. Also liked the beefing up 4K tow gives with trans cooler, radiator etc. Just Do It 😁
