Auto stop start

I have a 22 awd ecoboost. Wondering how the auto stop start works. I stop Mt truck at a light and it shows the A with a line through it. Does not stop, no ac, truck fully warmed up. I know alot of people would love this not to work. But I have to bring my truck in next week for rear set monitor and acc not working. And am concerned it may be indicative of other issues.

The reason for the stop/start mode not working has everything to do with the charge level of your battery. If the battery is not fully charged then your engine will not shut down when stopped at a traffic light. My guess is that your starter will also last longer. If that’s an annoyance for you then hook a trickle charger to your battery overnight

If you go to the center screen and the Information Menu, then select AutoStartStop, the reason is displayed. It's likely due to the battery charging. I've found ASS will also not work if just the front defroster button is pressed.

Thank you says the reson is a seat belt fault. What that has to do with ass who knows. My acc is also not working probably related. Going to dealer on Friday. Took 3 weeks to get appontment.

I personally disable this feature whenever I get in the vehicle. Seems like a lot of unnecessary work on battery and starter. I know they supposed to beef both units up to accommodate but I fail to see the savings with this feature enabled.

Am I the only person who turns it off immediately when I get into my Maverick?

I also disable it every time. Do not care for it.

I paid for the eliminator, so now I only have to press the cruise control button every time I get in the truck.

I turned it off with forscan so I don't have to do this. Its so nice not ever having deal with auto stop start again

Haha, was not gloating at all. But pressing TWO buttons every drive would've been too much for me. One button is manageable, but still a hassle. Eventually I will pepper my XLT with Forscan tweaks and get it how I really want it.

I could look into trying to get cruise control to default to on start up. Not sure it's possible but worth a try. Ill take a look and test some things

Me too. It's ridiculous. Default should be "off". I'd be happy if mine stopped working permanently!

This is all you have to do to default it to off via forscan.

I turned it off with forscan so I don't have to do this. Its so nice not ever having deal with auto stop start again

Perform these 3 coding changes via forscan below and auto stop start will be disabled, the icon will be gone from the cluster and the button will no longer work at all!

OR you can just do the first PSCM coding change and it will just default to off everytime you start the vehicle!

I'm not a fan of Auto S/S. Plugging a night light in the AC receptacle worked for years on my 2019 Ranger. I have it plugged into the Maverick and seems to work most of the time. Cheap fix for an unwanted S/S.
