Press the override button. Problem solved. By the way in practical terms we MIGHT be seeing SLIGHTLY more starter replacements but I can't even say that's for certain. But we're not replacing batteries any more frequently than before. But again, if a person wants their beefed up battery and starter to last an extra long time, just press the override button. And the starter and battery that are designed to last a normal amount of time with stop-start will last an extra long time since you not using the feature. Press the button. 1/2 second of timeStarters & batteries have a finite number of cycles before they fail, stop/start gets them to that finite number a lot sooner.
Just from an economics view, how much money in fuel do you save?
I would bet its a lot less than the cost of a battery ,starter or the electric fluid pump on the transmission
