So 2 months ago it started. I started getting deep sleep mode and having to jump the truck. Took it in to Chapman ford in marysville Ohio where I got and they said the battery was fine but needed some software update or something. Told them about all these issues from the forum and they were like no way. Started dying 7 weeks later and been in the shop for the past week. They confirm the battery is dead but are saying it is on back order and they can’t get me one. Wanted me to buy one from another manufacturer on my dime. I cannot believe this and there has to be some way to escalate to ford. Anyone else hear of this?

Yeah that sucks. Most dealerships don’t listen when you say anything about online forums or chats. My brother is a service manager at a Chevy dealership and we were talking about this at lunch today. He said if they can’t get a battery because it’s on back order they will get one from a parts store for them so the customer can drive their car. They can’t do that with other parts though.

That dealership sucks! Ask them isn’t this still under warranty! I had my battery replaced twice and so far I have not received the error message on my app and still can remote start it. And each time I brought it in for the deep sleep issue I got a loaner car….I did have to schedule the repair.

The Ford batteries are currently on back-order -- the dealer can get an exception and replace it with a comparable aftermarket battery, if under warranty, at no charge to you - we have had to do it for a few vehicles the past few weeks...(wonder why they are on back-order, maybe a problem, hmmmmmmm)

This is the main thing that scares me about buying this truck. Guessing they have not solved any of the battery issues for the 2024 model year ☹

I haven't had this problem yet. Not saying I won't, though.

The good thing is, if you're not satisfied w/ your Hybrid, you can still sell it for what you paid for it.

Hopefully this remains true! Scheduled for February production

Dead 12 Volt Maverick Battery -
Had the same problem on my new 2023 Maverick Lariat Hybrid (6 months old 4500 miles). Battery was dead and no power to anything, jumped started and towed to dealer, I would not drive it. Dealer replaced the battery and reprogrammed the PCM. One week later I got deep sleep message on FordPass and low battery indicator, took it back to dealer. Dealer has checked it for the past three days and no issues found. My separate OBD tracker does a health check including the Electrical System and it came back no problems found. I am at a loss, but my confidence in the reliability of the truck is damaged. I love the truck and hopefully the problem is resolved, but I am skeptical and will monitor closely. Ford needs to look into this issue and ensure there is no systemic issue with electrical components. I also know this type of problem is not exclusive to Ford, nearly every Hybrid and Electric vehicle (even Tesla) is dependent on the 12 volt battery which looks like a weak link that can cause ongoing electrical issues.

thanks Everyone and yep. They had to jump through hoops to get one but a brand new one is on-site. Just the fact they are back order though seems to point to a bigger issue. Thanks again

Many threads on this including a new one I started about 5 days ago. Disconnect the negative terminal under the seat and measure voltage. Leave is disconnected overnight and measure again. If it hasn't changed, the battery is likely okay. There may be a module drawing it down and you can check for that as well, but pinning it down is a whole different matter. My dealer determined the battery was bad, but that has turned out not to be the case.
If you are desperate for an aftermarket that fits, you can get a LEGEND from NAPA, part no. BAT 7599R for $199 minus 18 core. 24 month warranty. Buy it on a Sunday or a holiday when no dealers are open. You'll have a better chance at getting reimbursed under warranty.

Nathanael, get the turbo AWD. I own both I show on my videos and my first choice is AWD for more safety in bad weather and more capability overall. The mpg hwy is not much different either. It's like a little race truck in sport mode. Here is a video showing how it handles snow even with the stock street tires.
