Plan on adding a cover and some sound deadening on the hood just make it a bit quieter.
Yeah, because on a good day the engine sound on the hybrid is still awful.

Here it is... 10 minutes of work due to busting out a 10mm socket. I ordered too many screws and nuts... Only needed one screw, one nut and one plastic ball screw.

Makes it look much cleaner. I have to wonder why Ford didn't include this on all Hybrid's. Thanks for the pics!

So, is your engine quieter now?

Don't forget just order 1 of each. that looks to save you a little like 10 bucks. This is from Tasca. You may find it cheaper but I didn't.

With all the posters complaining about their glowing red hot cat under the hood, do you think it’s a good idea to add more plastic under there? Maybe Ford left it off for a reason

The cynical side wonders if the cover melts, should the surge/hot-red catalytic issue occur. - My mind works like that, I admit it.

At least there's a TSB, with a proposed fix by late March, so the issue will be a non-issue soon.

For the record, I like the look with the cover, just not sure about spending better than $100 for it, although, my brother would get employee pricing on it. - When/If my Maverick gets produced, most likely as a 2023, being a late order.

I don't think that's true. It has the anchors already installed.... They also stopped installing them on the newer escapes. Its just a way to save money. That being said it is not just a piece of plastic but a thick foam... The same 2.5L is installed in the escapes I don't think a cover is going to do much for heat. I do hope to lower some noise.

I am not sure why you would want to put something on the engine that can restrict heat transfer into the air. Ford designed the engine without it and a cover can make it run warmer than they designed it
Yeah, gotta keep that plastic intake cool or you might experience 'DANGER TO MANIFOLD!'
