I understand that most automakers suck at infotainment, but I’m curious if my issues are common or unique to my truck. So far I’ve experienced:

  • Audio cutting out entirely 2x
  • Backup camera not opening, completely freezing infotainment 3x
  • Minor lag / skipping on backup camera on occasion
  • Bluetooth connecting to my phone, but I cannot select it as an audio source on occasion
  • My biggest issue: Bluetooth disconnecting while playing audio. This happens damn near every day. Sometimes it reconnects immediately, sometimes it needs to be reset
Software is up to date. Does anyone have any insight as to how likely we are to get regular updates to fix bugs?

Try doing a soft reset of the system

With ignition on, press and hold the seek up ( >> ) button and also the on/off/volume knob.

Wait for the screen to go dark, then release both controls.

It may take a shortish interval for the reset to fully cycle through and complete, following which the screen display will reappear.

Soft reset should save any settings you have previously made.

I’m familiar with the soft reset as I’ve had to do this after the freezing and audio cut out issues. Maybe I’ll try doing this more regularly to see if it alleviates the Bluetooth issues.

Hi there! This doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having with your Maverick. Please go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information. I’d be happy to look into these infotainment concerns for you. Thank you.

Unfortunately Ford, it’s the experience we are all having with this info system… especially the non-sync model. Between the federally mandated backup camera not showing up, constant freezing and locking up, and audio volume being blasted while you frantically try to turn it down while it takes it’s sweet time to respond, I’m fairly certain a class action is on the horizon.I understand a budget vehicle, but the info system is downright atrocious and should be ashamed that it passed whatever testing, verification, and validation that you guys did.

Love the truck, hate the info system! Spend most of my time driving, resetting bluetooth, radio settings, and the Android Auto never seems to work properly. Everything about it is annoying.

Other than the screen being way too dark almost to use the backup camera in many circumstances, even turned all the way up. I haven't had any issues on a Feb-March build.

Get it fixed under warranty. Not normal.
Now if they could just figure out after 4 months how to make the infotainment system actually work for the Ford Maverick I'd be impressed. I've checked every month and there's always a reason they can't quite get it together. I would be happy if I didn't have to take off work to get the oil changed just to be told (after the guy finished eating his pie at the service counter) the app says it's not ready to be changed after 4500 miles. Might have been nice to know two weeks ago when the appointment was scheduled through the magical app.

Same Bluetooth issues. I had to call ford. I’ll advise when they fix it.

I will try this, but I’m hoping for an update to fix these types of issues

Never listen to AM/FM. I hate Bluetooth in anything. Has a mind of its own as far as I am concerned. All I care about is plugging my phone into the USB port and using my 5 year old iPhone7 for NAV and stream some tunes on CarPlay.

Can anyone confirm that at least this part of the system works half way decent?

I have Sirius/XM in my Bronco Sport so I tried to use the Bluetooth feature in the Maverick and the app on my iPhone. Cuts in and out most times so I got a cable and try to just use car play….even then it doesn’t work 25% of the time.

Had one issue with Google Maps through Car Play.
I plug the phone in and the map was out of sync with my location. Unplugged it and the phone shows where I actually am. Plug it back in and it's out of sync again.
Had to turn truck off and back on to reset it.
