Got mine at tractor supply last year. All their Reese stuff was heavily discounted.

Forget the adjustable hitche$ it's a Maverick, it's not actually a tow truck.
One 2" drop aluminum and a 2" stainless is all you'll need. If you want flexibility get another 3/4" drop all for less than half the price of an adjustable. Wrap it in an old towel and toss under the seat.
No rust, all the steel ones rust eventually.

Yup... go to TSC and get the set shown above ⬆ or go to Harbor Freight and get theirs. There's no use throwing away your hard earned $$ on something you likely will use only occasionally and towing w/ a Maverick it's not like you are going to need some big hairy-chested beast of a hitch, anyway. Yeah, YMMV.

Fair enough! Going with the CURT 45360 with a 2 inch drop. A 2 inch ball. And a hitch tightener.

I appreciate the direct feedback! Hopefully this thread can help someone else too!

After looking closer at the one I said, it doesn't come with a hitch pin 🤔. So this information would help me too!

Don't forget to lock the nut.
I always like to point out. When people lock their trailer to the ball, and they have a locking pin. I can always come up and unscrew the nut from ball at the bottom and transfer the trailer ball and all.
It isn't easy, but it can be done.

I went with an adjustable drop. I tow my little 4x8 with my Ranger using a 2" drop, but the Ranger hitch is a few inches lower than the Maverick. Throw in that my trailer has 8" wheels I figured any trailer I borrowed would be at a different height than my 4x8, so I went for flexibility.

Alright! I have updated what I am getting, I am going to get a cheaper one for now with a 2" drop that should fit the "95%" of what people have mentioned. Then in the future if I find myself unable to tow certain things I can always look into investing more money into an adjustable or one that will fit what I am doing more.

Here is something I copied off the web that shows how to measure drop relative to the truck and trailer - it may come in handy if/when you start swapping trailers.

Also wanted to add a benefit of the one piece ball mounts is that they are more compact. When I got my adjustable mount I had to get an extender plug for my lights and put longer chains on my trailer. The multi-piece mount is also VERY loud in the cab.

I carry behind the back seat “a hitch w 2” ball“. Just in case small trailer. If larger trailer with >2” hitch, can still hitch up.

Fortunately or unfortunately I have multiple hitch bars with different drops or raises . accumulated over the years . also have multiple size hitch balls . Haven't used any of them on Mav yet . Haven't had need to tow anything yet . Still have enclosed mc drive in utility /camp trailer with ramp door that is currently used for storage .
