I have the stubby and I have not experienced the loss of signal from my fob. Then again, I didn't measure that distance with the OEM antenna. but my fob still works within a reasonable distance . . . 25-30 feet, maybe more.
I can normally remote start from in the locker room at work and after installing the stubby it wouldn't work and wouldn't work standing outside the door with a dirrect line of sight, I had to get within 50 feet to get it to respond and had issue making sure the doors were locked before going to bed, first though was battery in the bronco remote I got for the remote start feature so I changed it and no change, swapped back the long antenna and it is back up to range. I was surprised.

My, Touch the door handle to unlock with the key fob in my pocket works sometimes.
I can touch the door handle on top on the lines and it tries to relock more often than open.

An odd little annoyance.
the unlock is inside the handle, you have to grip it, touching the ribs on top is just to lock. I have found that humidity and more important skin dryness can screw with it detecting your touch.

If you touch the top it will lock the door. If you touch the inside it will unlock. If you wrap your hand around touching both sides it might do either. 😂
Thank you kind Sir. I’ll try that !

Keep in mind……….
Touching the door handle, while it locks the doors, does not arm the alarm.
The fob or the keypad will arm it.

I’d have all this down pat if Ford didn’t cheap out and quit including a complete printed owners manual but I guess they know these Youngers can’t read more than a snip it at a time.
Reading comprehension, another vanishing skill.

I knew everything about my 2024 because I had a real owners manual on the back of the toilet.
I shit you not !

In Leon Hogan's defense (although admittedly another newbie; but not new to forums): the search feature here is NOT very effective. Normally takes you to threads of ramble only moderately pertinent to the subject searched.
I admit it's not perfect but honestly I have never had an issue finding something with the search function. I think the biggest issue is that most people don't actually know how to use the search function properly. When doing a search many people use way too many words. Also if you click the box for "Search Titles Only" it severely narrows down results. 99.9% of the time I find exactly what I'm looking for by doing that. And on the rare occasion I can't find results that way I go to Google.

Another member mentioned having a fresh battery in your fob might make a difference.

When I push my lock button once to flash lights or twice to also honk horn it works for at least 150 feet! A thought = if you put some brands but not all led light bulbs in your garage door opener your remote may not work if the LIGHTS ARE ON due to RF INTERFERENCE so check your bulbs. PERHAPS if you have led bulbs in a delay circuit and are on, then your fob may not work depending on distance and possible RF interference although I think only the builtin AC TO DC conversion in the garage opener is the RF problem.
Thanks. I'm not having any problems with my fob. I was responding to the OP who said he was having issues with the stubby antenna. But, I appreciate your informative post.

Completely agree. The search feature needs to be recalculated or whatever they do to make it more pertinent.

Note: remote start requires that the truck must lock before ice will start. Check when you get out of truck by pushing the lock button on the fob twice. If horn honks once truck has successfully locked. If horn honks twice then truck is not lockable maybe a door is not completely shut or hood is not also completely shut. Or(?)

Appreciate that, have been ignoring the "titles only" selection. Sometimes I have to add a word or two more than desirable to narrow down the search, and in most search engines putting the word/words in quotation marks will return ONLY that choice. It may be that what I search hasn't been covered before, but I find that hard to believe.

You can search by members only or word(s) by a member. Also Google search with word(s) and "Maverick Truck Club" to get those words mentioned in this site.🤫
