Incidental to the roof flex, here is my solution on the Maverick, and it feels rock solid. Puck in the rear, self tappers in the center, and rivnuts used on the forward attachments

I think I still have 2 CBs up in the attic someplace...pretty sure it's been at least 30 years (probably longer) since I used them.
Got one stored away with my old 8-tracks and decks, other still mounted tucked under glove box in my '65 Vette time capsule. Maybe I should remove it?

Funny how we can read the same things different.
Perspective/perception?

I thought OP was referring to remove the entire antenna
(not just the screw in whip) and put a CB Ant. in the OEM spot.
Do people still use CB radios ?
Back in a previous life my handle was,
The Mexican Pot Dealer.
What ? No no no, Clay pottery :’P

I have seen many posts on here about that issue. I am asking, not being a wise *ss, how tall is your garage door? I measured, roughly the height of my antennae and it is not as high from the ground as i am 6'2". And i walk through the garage door without ducking. But I know someone who has a detached shed garage and his door is right at 6' so it would be tight with the angle of his ramp and I wouldn't want to try it.
The lowest barrier for my truck to enter the garage is the outside light, at 72 inches. The antenna might fit, but I always take it off after I buy a new vehicle. My house is old (built in 1936), and this area wasn't converted into a garage until 2009, after Hurricane Ike caused some damage. I have not had problems with radio reception, even on trips to west Texas and western Oklahoma.

Yeah those old garages were much smaller. I sold my 1928 house a little over a year ago. A former owner had demolished the original garage and built an updated one in 1960. I now have a 2 car with separate doors but the builder installed 7' wide doors when he built the house many years ago. The 2023 Silverado I had before the Maverick would not fit through the door.
At least my Maverick is not as wide as my old Explorer! It's the right size for this garage.
