The B&O system isn't worth the money. Had it previously. The standard non-B&O Ford speakers are crap but easy to change. Replaced my XLT door and rear speakers with Kickers and nothing else is needed. Nice clear full range sound. Sounds fine even keeping the original dash tweeters. I have no need to wake up the neighbors.

agree but you can't buy it separately. so, for me, I have to get adaptive cruise and that brings B&O, heated pleather seats, powered sliding rear window, etc.

in a Ranger or F150 you can get ACC with the XLT package and none of that extra crap. heck in an Escape you can get ACC in the base model.

I still have my stock B&O amp but I've changed everything else, except the rear speakers which I just have faded low and basically ignore them. as-delivered the Maverick B&O is underwhelming, but can be upgraded easily to great effect.

So all you did was replace the rear pillar and front door speakers with coaxial speakers? Plus you left the oem dash tweeters too....right? Did you run the new speakers off the headunit or an amp? Thanks

Ran them off the head unit. Same wiring as the originals. Kickers I used are efficient enough so the head unit still supplies enough power so an amp is not necessary. Won't blast the neighbors but plenty loud enough to listen to with the windows down.

If you are using coaxial speakers in the front doors are you getting the high frequency range from the coaxial tweeters? Some think the signal being sent to the front doors is not a full range signal. Thanks

I just talked to a tech at clutchfield and he told me the door speakers don't get the full range. He said if the door tweeters did work it would be very little, this is why I want to fine some good tweeters and replace the dash ones. Does anybody know of a better tweeter (don't break the bank)that will replace the stock ones without a LOT of work and sound better ?

Took my 24 Mav Lariat to Kar tunes (Tempe, AZ). Replaced the B & O front door speakers with Hertz DCX-1653 two way 6.5" speakers. Also had Sound Shield added to both doors. It was not cheap. Had I done the work myself (which , at my age, was not really possible); I could have saved about $250. The combination of new speakers and the insulation resulted in an improvement in quality and level. Was it worth it? I thing so; but you may not. I must say that the B & O speakers looked really cheap. As an added benefit road noise should be less.
Small world! I live in Mesa, AZ also and I replaced my B&O speakers in the door, center channel, rear & the sub. I did it myself but I had some issues with some broken clips in the door panels. The B&O system does have some pretty cheap speakers w/ small magnets on them. Improved the sound quite a bit but I would like more punch to the system. Thinking of adding a 10" sub and another amp with one of these boxes

Thanks for the reply. I would have liked to do what you did, but , mostly due to my age, was not able to do. The cost of having the work done at a shop was more than I wanted to pay; so I only changed the door speakers. Did you add any sound deadening material ? Good luck on your future upgrades.

Yeah I added the sound deadening material around the door speakers. I ended up taking the truck to my dealer to have him fix some clips in my door panels (very difficult to not break some of those clips when taking it apart). I'm not exactly young and spry either (59 1/2).
