Is this a joke of some kind? I’d be thrilled if this was true, and this is coming from a Ford Dealers website. It would explain why they quickly dismissed a PHEV as they intend to make an EV version. States it will be announced this year and debut next year, if this is true this will be amazing!

There was just a piece in the other online paper stating that Ford has no intention of building a fully electric version.
Personally I like my hybrid. After talking to Ford dealers the bugs have not been worked out yet.
If I decide to go fishing I don’t want to get caught in the middle of no where with a dead truck.
The sales person where I bought my maverick told me about a person with a Lightening being under the impression that they had 100 miles to go before they ran out of juice. The person had an unhappy surprise when he ran out of power.

I wouldn't put so much into the media, Ford, GM, and other manufacturers can make changes quickly. I'm betting that a PHEV Maverick will happen and a full EV will happen too, when, that is the question!

I have kinda decided that I no longer want a plug in hybrid. The added weight and complexity just doesn’t seem worth it with my current Maverick hybrid doing so well for me as is.

Now if a full electric comes along I might be in!

Everything they write isn't true, and Ford wants EV credits, so building a PHEV Maverick is the way to go.

I'm the opposite, I want a PHEV, more than a full EV Maverick, I'd be able to travel 80% fully elect to work and back.
