I don't hate the looks but $187 to let air exit through my fenders is bonkers expensive.
Like yes, it's functional but to what function? I can't imagine enough engine bay air will flow into the fenders and through three tiny holes to help with engine cooling.

I would imagine they are more effective if you remove the sound deading foam in the fenders, if you happen to have it. But, then it might be too noisy.

$215 with tax & shipping IS a lot for custom molded plastic and 3M automotive tape. Maybe $20 worth of materials? But there are plenty of folks taking a cut as it travels to me the final consumer.

And I’m retired living like a hermit (with 3 cats). So fiddling with my new Lobo gives me a break from playing RDR2 & EXP33:) Worked hard for 40 years…you’ll be there someday.

Functionality of the vents = very questionable. There will be a few small holes after the OEM vent is removed. The turbo & exhaust manifold are close by but still. I’ll post some pics of ventless Lobo:)

Thanks for your thoughts though!

Before I bought it - I was contemplating a FORSCAN turn off of the “fake engine noise”. Now I want it turned up! Too quiet for my old ears. I do have a Borla catback to install next week hopefully.

Are you serious about the sound deadening foam? I’ll will find it & destroy!

People were actually adding the foam if they didn't get it during supply shortages. I think it was more for wind noise than it was engine noise under the hood. Don't know if the Lobo has it.

Careful… the engine noise from under the hood is not the same, erm… “quality” as it would be from a Borla, and is definitely not the same as the piped-in sound. 😀

Have you thought about fiddling with a 3d printer? As a retiree, I'm definitely tempted to do different 'stuff' to keep the braincells ticking over! No :wait: anymore! :handsinair:

I’m retired too, happily jumping from hobby to hobby. But I don’t have the eyesight, talent, or budget to become a competent 3D Printer Man. So I’ll remain content paying a premium for my automotive plastic bits.

I mean you could buy the Mabett or other brands led lights and dramel them for cheaper than this. I would imagine a significant drop in engine bay temps either.

I agree with you that minimal heat will be extracted - barely more than what leaks out from the the edges of the OEM insert.

But every time “Raiti’s Rides” does a Maverick review he “zonks” the non functional vent. I think he would zonk my dremel tooled Mabbet even more:)

So I went with the stylish “Air Design” vent for zonk avoidance only. Don’t hate on me - blame “Raiti’s Rides”!:)

Got no idea who that it's but previous members just cout out the recessed part and hot glued a mesh screen on.

I have no idea but I don't think it would help but it could hurt too by lowering the preseure in the engine bay but again probably minimal.

Lowering the pressure in the engine bay?? C’mon, this is a porous Maverick engine bay not an airtight submersible! You’re really grabbing at straws to poo poo my stylish, over priced, & minimally functional side air vents:)
