They function as smoker's vents for those who smoke. I don't smoke.

I ordered them. Will come in handy when it rains, when it's sunny and I want to vent heat, or when I have the pup in the cab. I don't see them making my vehicle more vulnerable while parked unless I leave my windows down too far.
I put some on my F150 back in the day and they were useful for leaving the windows down just a bit to vent summer heat. Because I just dropped the window a bit from the outside it didn't look like the windows were down because of the air deflector. I plan on getting some again once the aftermarket has them for the Maverick. Since my Mav will have to sit outside in the AZ sun the interior heat can get way beyond EZ-bake oven levels!

I'm still amazed at home many vehicles still can be opened with a slim jim (not the meat stick kind) even after automakers have supposedly made it harder to get into a vehicle. I've always figured that if they really want your vehicle it's gone, but I still take all the precautions I can so as not to make easy for them to take my Mav!
As a person with some tow experience (swamper for a summer; sucked but was fun overall), I'd say that slim jims aren't common now. New cars have big crash bars and a bunch of other stuff in the doors that makes accessing the lock rod harder.

The preferred method now for people that lock their keys in the car is to use an air wedge in the top-rear most corner of the driver or front passenger door. Inflating the air wedge bends the door to have a gap of an inch or two without causing any damage.

From there, use a wood or plastic (less chance of scratches) rod to hit the power door lock button.

Oh yeah I forgot about that method, I've seen it done one time and I'm still amazed that it didn't damage the car.

Dunno maybe we should request a video from the LPL about opening a car door (have to be a Monday) with some feed jerky he and BosnianBill make together. Would have to be a Monday (cars) or an April first (innuendo) day But I bet he could do it 2x just to show it was not a fluke.

Agreed I like the in channel but love these especially for venting heat when parked. I am watching to see when some come out.

I almost always drive with the windows cracked and don't always remember to close them so more than once have come out in the morning to find some rain made its way in...soo these were on my required list. Ie, they are on my order.

Definitely want them, discussed with my dealer when confirming my build so many months ago and he was cool and suggested I could use some of my ~$200 in Ford reward points to buy them later. I’m absolutely going to put them on, whether DIY or with dealer later is uncertain.

I'm getting them I find them useful on my current trucks to keep them from getting so hot while parked.
This! It's amazing how much pressure builds up inside a hot vehicle and being in LA these deflectors make a big difference when entering a vehicle. Just that tiny crack above the doors really does make a difference.

Did not order them, but plan on getting a set after I get my truck!
Just the drivers window I keep cracked though, so actual cross
venting does NOT take place. Manual windows, so opening
passenger side is a slight hassle, for me! Power windows will be
a nice feature!
