Not sure if the question has been asked. Is there a solution for us that want a push button start, but not pay Lariat pricing to get it? Thanks for help in the right direction!

Seriously, push start button should have been included in the Lux XLT package along with smart key, or at least offered as a option. Disappointed in Ford about that. I haven’t used a key to start a car in 10 years it feels like such a step back. Totally bothering me.

I agree, same for me! I feel exactly the same way.
Honestly considered competitors because of this one issue. I like not digging for keys. They stay in my back pack. I don't even use keys to enter my home. Once you have the convenience of not digging for keys, it's tough going backwards!

Yea, my base model Prius LE has push button start, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control, and cost about the same as the XLT Maverick.....

I agree it will be hard to not have that option. I am looking right now for a good system to install myself.

Why bother. For the push button start to be worthwhile it would mean keeping the fob in your pocket, but unless the vehicle has touch sensor entry handles and door locks that are part of the system you will need to pull the fob out of your pocket anyway.

I didn't get it with my 2019 xlt ranger either. $40k truck with a key, will the focus st I previously owned at half the cost had push button.

Here is how I see the ford bean counter conversation going:

Hey we have a bunch of key ignitions left over and need to use them, what cars should get them?

Everything below to lariat trim trucks! Truck owners are more likely to carry other keys anyway. We solved it!

I have push button start on my Mustang.

I always take the key out of my pocket so if I had a keyed ignition it wouldn’t bother me either way.

If having the push button start would increase my XLT I’d opt out of it if possible.

Dumb question here as I don't know your model that well.

With the remote start, you don't need the key to start the engine. Use the app. But YES, you'll need to stick the key in the hole when you get to your car. But TECHNICALLY it is running ;)

If I'm not mistaken, the key must go in the ignition? Or the vehicle will cut off. Almost makes having a remote start unnecessary.😆

My issue isn't remote starting, it's having to use a standard key on a $30k vehicle. 😉

If this were 20 years ago, I'd think nothing of it.
You can find push button start on a $18k vehicle now.

Everybody carries keys. I need a key to get into my house. I don't have fancy electronic locks. I'm almost 67 and have been using keys for most of my life, but I guess the younger generation doesn't.

For what it's worth, I was building a Lincoln Nautilus online last night, I couldn't tell if they even had keys. All it said was it used your cell phone as a key. Sure as hell hope you don't lose your phone shopping, you'll be screwed getting home.

The aftermarket kits you can tie into the door locks and automatically unlock/lock as you approach and walk away from the vehicle.

Oh, like I said. I carry keys. But during the work week, not in my pockets. Keys stay in my back pack.
The proximity locks are very cool as well.
As you approach the vehicle or put your hand on the door handle, the vehicle unlocks.

You should try the system for homes.
You'll never look for a key again. 😆
Those fancy electronic locks aren't that expensive and work well if you have someone needing to get in and you're not around the house to let them in.
