Was thinking of removing the rear seat, both the seat and the back of it. Then need to build some kind of removable shelter for five cats in case we ever need to evac because of a huricane. There is only the two of us so the rear seat will never get used anyway.

I think thats a rubber window seal and will do that when squished between the window and frame when closed. Thats a good sign that its working.
