Anyone aware of aftermarket options for under hood sound insulation? My Maverick XLT with Eco Boost is noisy and I’d like to quiet the engine sound down.
Might want to try the foam OEM Ford fender well inserts (search “no insulation in fender” on here) and the ecoboost engine cover.
Both of those made a noticeable difference in cutting down noise on mine. It’s much quieter on the highway too.
The direct injection pump for this engine is loud and on cold starts it’ll still be noticeable. But I can say now it’s definitely more tolerable and muted than it was stock.
I like the DEI one. I like that it's not reflective so the heat is absorbed with the sound rather than reflected back at the engine componants.
Unforntunatly I can't give you a review on it because it's December and I won't be able to install it until spring. https://www.designengineering.com/black-under-hood-thermal-acoustic-liner-32-x-59/
