Under Hood lining options?

Those are a great alternative much cheaper and work fantastic on heat. Much better than the Ford part. I use them and all my cars and trucks in Arizona and I couldn’t be happier. Don’t waste your money with the Ford part it’s not worth it.

Here's an option on Amazon that comes in a roll. That will probably take care of six cars. It's functionally better than the Ford product and doesn't require any silly clips. Much better heat retention and sound absorption. Much lower price. Jes sayin.

I just do not think a foil (topped) option is good for underhood. The heat will reflect back into the engine bay. Pretty sure my brother had issues on an older Jeep when he used similar.

I'm planning on doing second skins hood installation kit, definitely needs something between combating the heat and the noise is pretty loud for what it is also.

Maybe check out Amazon. They have deadening sprays, self adhesive hood liners. Fat Max makes one for $100 that looks decent.

my “premium” BMW is falling apart under the hood, if you so much look at any plastic or rubber the wrong way it turns to dust like Thanos just snapped his fingers.

When I replaced hoses, gaskets, trim or anything else made from plastic/rubber I.e windshield cowl, I took that under hood lining off for better heat dissipation and on god didn’t notice any difference in noise or vibration or whatever else any one says linings are supposed to be for

Don’t do this mod folks, have you not seen how much plastic is under the hood?! Plastic does not like heat at all, especially over prolonged periods or many years…more so if you live in a hot climate like me.

I mean, its a BMW , it was gonna do that anyway. Its been a great thing for all my prior cars. The airflow while driving mitigates the reflective heat and so you get the sound insulation and paint protection.

Others are suggesting the foil, If you look at the OP I am looking for the synthetic insulator, but either way, most premium cars do have the hood liners.

Many of the older cars didn't have any insulation under the hood. They did have more reinforcement though.

I installed Dynamat yesterday

It did cut down sound at low speed (haven't taken it on the freeway yet)

I made a cardboard template first and cut it to size.

I think it makes for a much cleaner look as well!

I had some extra KillMat from another project that I installed first - I put the KillMat into the depressions to make the surface more flat for the Dynamat to stick to.
