I am willing to wait quite a while, I am willing to compromise on features, I am willing to compromise on quality, but I am not willing to do all three.

I have thought for a while about the Maverick obviously, I was very excited to get it and I still really want it. I begrudgingly set aside some things I really want in favor of the truck bed and I understand that I was going to wait for an indefinite amount of time but no updates by May was my cutoff. With the news that Ford oversold the 2022 model year and some people will not get the vehicle that they ordered I considered removing CP360 which really only has 1 real feature I cared about at my trim level which was the cross traffic alert. But that was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak, I have given up enough features and any more becomes an exercise in sunk cost. No thanks.

Good luck on getting your Mavs, this post was not to discourage anyone but just to offer context that silently leaving wouldn't offer.

I am either going to get a '22 civic hatchback, Subaru Forester, or cave to the truckbed and buy a Tacoma. Maybe the trims will get shuffled a bit for the Maverick in the '23 MY in which case I may be interested again but we'll see. Give me adaptive cruise, dual zone climate, and a better infotainment and I'll pay something around $27k-$30k but otherwise I am just going to be making a mistake by waiting on disappointment.

Good luck, Tacomas only get 17mpg by the way. Tundras have better MPG.
MPG is important, but it should be given some context. My Nissan Frontier's fuel economy is atrocious at just 16mpg combined. A Tacoma of similar vintage gets 4mpg better, but it also would've cost about $10,000 more to purchase.

One reason why I appreciate the Maverick hybrid is that you get your cake (inexpensive truck) and get to eat it too (better gas mileage than a Civic).

I recall persons saying to me "dont buy a first year new model vehicle" So I will wait, save money, and maybe by this coming late summer there will be a new Maverick that I can buy and possibly other auto makers will see the clamoring for Mavericks and offer a better alternative.
I learned a long while ago that, especially with a Ford, it almost always pays to wait until the midcycle refresh. Not only are more/additional/better features installed, but parts are widely available and production issues have had time to get ironed out.

I'm personally holding my breath for a Maverick Hybrid AWD and/or a Mavrick PHEV.

That’s not entirely true, and I appreciated the post. It’s good to know what other people are doing sometimes, and this is really the only place to air that information.

Why does everyone insist on telling us when they are jumping ship and leaving for greener pastures?? Nobody gives a shit!!! We are all suffering. Just pick up your ball and go home quietly into the night. Better luck next year maybe.

Hasta luego mi amigo.

You won't find the grass greener. I just tried as I sold my Forester in anticipation my Bronco was arriving 2/4 only to have it stashed in a field in michigan.

I guess I missed my opportunity to create a post about how I got a CRV Hybrid because the man totally bent me over and **shakes fist angrily** damnit I deserve more for my $100 deposit on $25k and $45k vehicles!!

As far as those complaining about the quality and build quality. It's a $20k truck. Find me an equally as capable, useful, and fuel efficient vehicle for that price - I'll wait. Unless it's got Lada build quality all will be well.

It took me 6 months to get my Maverick. It was well worth the wait. Our society is just so impatient. I just ordered a Scamp travel trailer and the wait list is 2 YEARS! IMHO, it will be worth the wait!
