This one has the straight 6, no turbo, and no idrive, which is over my limited ken anyway. I drove it home today; it was a great 25-mile drive. Embarrassing, when I got it home I couldn't start it, and had to call my salesman, wasn't pushing that cockamamie key in far enough for it to click. Brand new tires and oil and filters changed. The 1/8th-inch weather strip around the rear window has come loose at one end, so I will take it to my local mechanic tomorrow, rather than drive the 25 miles back to Laurel. You bet!
Now the 2012 328i is the first year of the F30 chassis and it has the new N20 4 cylinder engine. Not a bad engine but keep up on the oil changes. LubroMoly/LiquiMoly is my oil of choice for turbo charged BMW engines. They are the same just different names for different markets.

It will tell you a lot about the engine and maintenance.
I was surprised at how small the car is; it almost feels like back in the British sportscars, except for its luxury. On the drive to the dealer, in my little Maverick, I pulled up behind a little car at a stop light. It was lower than my Maverick. It was a BMW 328i !!
One of my apartment neighbors just bought a mint-condition Chrysler Crossfire, that hybrid with the Mercedes engine in it. He is having a new top made for it. So, I am hoping that he and I can attend some Saturday car shows with the tops down. I miss those weekly car shows in Texas.
Thanks again for the moral support.
