Hey there Mavericks ! I've read and seen videos of people using Forscan to add drive modes to XLT and Lariat models . Is it possible to use Forscan to add drive modes to XL models ? Could I add mud and ruts and sand modes to my XL Ecoboost AWD?

I would expect it could, but if programmer properly completed his program and some chip or requirement was not found I would expect a message say "restricted operation or denied operation due to inactive device". Possibly if AWD or something else is required for operation. Also it's possible that it may appear to work but may not be fully functional.

Uhhh, WUT?

This works fine and is probably the easiest thing to do with FORScan especially in easy mode. You can tell the drive modes work using the intelligent AWD screen which actually shows the difference in power distribution front to rear between the different drive modes.

Sounds great 👍. Thanks . I will have to get more familiar with Forscan . Would doing this be something that voids the warranty?

Here's a video that shows the overall process for adding different modes. Looks pretty simple. I think it's interesting, but I'm not too thrilled about messing with the software on my Mav haha. Hopefully this helps.

It's very simple to do. Watch a couple of videos and read the posts on here. You will be good to go.

Thanks for posting this - same truck spec that I have, and literally the only thing I want to change (so far) with forscan lol

It might.

You are giving the dealer a reason to void the warranty. Even if you are legally allowed to do it you might end up having to fight them over repairs to the computer or AWD system. I'd like to get ECO mode back but it's not worth setting myself up for a fight with them.

I keep meaning to ask if my dealer could do it for me. Even if they charged me, they couldn't void the warranty because they are the dealer.

Why turn off the ABS?

It doesn't turn off abs.

That option turns off the abs transmission mode groupings.

I've had all modes enabled on my truck for almost a year with no issues. My non fx4 runs great with the sand/snow mode in deep snow.

Just did this today - took 5 minutes and now I have eco and sport mode. Super easy, really glad I was able to do it. Holy cow does sport mode rip!

I don't understand folks that have the Hybrid who want to enable Mud/Ruts. Your truck is FWD only and the mode won't do a thing for you.
