If you don't have AWD I don't think it will get you anything having the settings as they act on the transfer case.

Since I got the Fx4 package I don't even know what is on the others. I saw that someone had all 8 modes on their rig. I would like to enable the eco mode just for long trips like the one I am taking for Memorial day. Southwest Idaho to South East Wisconsin. If it works it would save some dollars on fuel.

the eco and sport can be add to the trucks with the fx4 package. The forscan I posted is how they add those other modes.

Is it worth it to add Eco to the FX4’s? I find I already get pretty good gas mileage so I’m wondering if I would really notice a difference.

I am getting between 27 and 30 but over that amount of mileage, even an extra mile or two to the mpg would help immensely. It will be over 3200 miles by the time I am done. That looks like a saving of around $20 each way if can get just an extra mile per gallon. And could be as much as $120 for the trip if I can get as much as 4. Don't know until I try it.

For mixed hwy / city driving on a 2.0L ecoboost you should see an increase from 25 - 26 MPG to 28 to 29ish MPG if you stay in eco mode exclusively. For hwy only at least 32 1/2 MPG to 33ish if you stick to 75 MPH or less.

Without going through all the math assume a constant gas price of $3.50, the tank fillups are 15 gallons and you travel 12k miles each year. If you average 29 MPG that will cost $1470 rounding up for gas yearly, with eco mode now you average 32.5 MPG that will cost instead $1313 rounding up for gas yearly instead. Ultimately it saves you about $157 in gas using eco mode based on that estimate.

Just did this for another person in Boise a few weeks back before he took his FX4 on a road trip

If I am going to save $150 a year by driving slower, I’d rather drive faster and save the time, that’s more valuable to me.

I get pretty much the rated numbers but mostly the combined 25 mpg an occasional 28/29 mpg. Under really hard conditions like hills and wind, it’s dropped to 20 mpg and below 👎🏽

Pump your tires up to 80 psi, remote the antenna, add a tonneau. glue ground glass to the gas pedal & drive barefoot. You won't need eco mode.
If you read the post she would see I have an XLT which has eco-I want to download the FX four modes
