I have damage on my hood and roof from hickory nuts around our house. Yes, the sheet metal looks to be very weak.

That sucks big time maybe you can find a shop that specializes in hail damage to easily fix the damage.

Does the roof dent as easy?
The aluminum hoods on my Mustangs were tough as nails.

Thanks for chiming in. I hope.that my post doesn't start a debate about how to maintain your car. I mainly want to counter some bad culture that adds to the kind of negative effects you posted above. Which BTW, I have some of the same tendencies, we all do. The post is also a reminder to myself, for when I take delivery, to avoid some of the entrappings of being proud if my shiney new toy!

I will search to see if there is a first dent club thread tonight. If not I will start one. Perhaps we can help put a positive spin on getting through those first blemishes.
I got a dent on day 2. In to a for Rhino liner.. Some SMALL spay curtain weight fell a few feet "hit " window frame/door top. Think $300 dent pull charge on them. Shocked how easy was dented

My less than month old Maverick has dings all over the hood and roof. I'm in New Hampshire and we have had a lot of acorns this year. I've heard them hit before but didn't realize until today that they were damaging the hood and roof. 😡 I don't have room on the other side of the driveway unless we stack the cars. Driveway

Driveway is way to full we have two motohomes, a utilty trailer, a Traverse and two Mavericks.
Sorry to hear this. My2022 is a desert dweller. We just did a 6000 mile roadtrip with lots of heavy weather- fortunately no hail but we got pummeled with bugs the size of small birds. Fortunately they come in at an angle

Is it just the hood that is aluminum?
My truck is a year and a half old, I park as far away from other vehicles as possible, I waxed it 3/4 times LOOKS NEW. Parked it at a local park to let my dog do its business and run around a little, as I pulling out I hear a loud bang thinking I hit someone it was a dam eggcorn hitting my hood, right in the middle of that aluminum hood a quarter size dent.
So with all the BS you have to put up with parking and trying to keep your truck clean and dent free YOU HAVE TO LOOK UP BEFORE YOU PARK. GOING TO SEE THE PAINTLESS DENT GUY.

I think we called them monkey balls growing up in Hancock county.
We call them "Hedge Apples" her in SW Ohio. I definitely would not one of them hitting my truck. Sitting or at speed!

Sure hoping this little truck will hold up to our winters. We get LOTS of wet, heavy snow here. Sometimes feet! Unfortunately no garage. If these Maverick hoods are really that fragile, there will be many days I'll be up and at 'em before my morning coffee knocking snow off the truck!
