Yep this cabin-filter cash/cow scam is now the biggest money maker in the industry-

Every car I saw in 45 minutes come thru the local J/Lube was shown a dirty filter and said its time to replace while I was waiting for an emissions test-

And during an oil change at my local Ford dealer sometimes back- A tech much have pulled out my clean AF cabin filter then slammed it back in causing a huge kink on the backside that I did not realize and ending up seeing when I upgraded to a 2.5 micron filter -

IMO this right here is the biggest issue with them checking the filter. This happens more often then not because they’re in a hurry, lol.

Exactly. Putting a deadbolt on my glovebox . I seriously think J/Lube just last week messed with my brand new filter - Checked it last night, I like being able to breathe - Any service drop off moving forward will have painters tape on the glove box that will state.- You move on this and you will then have loose teeth - Or is that too much ? -)

My filter at 20,000 was nasty. I now change it every year right after pollen season, about every 12-14,000 miles.

47,000 miles of crap went into and likely partially clogged your evaporator core.
or izzit the condenser. ?

Tear down the dash to chemically clean that ? Not really an option.

Time to trade up, my 2026 is worlds above my 2024.
I’m at 1,000 miles, gonna check my filter.

When my truck goes in for service, recall or update.
I take a picture of my glove box, console and rear seat compartment.
With the glove box it's pretty unlikely they'll get everything back the way I have it, there's a lot going on under those gloves.

You were right in the first place, the evaporator absorbs heat so it makes cold.
