Just got word that my Mav arrived at the dealer. Picking it up tomorrow. They are honoring the order price. They have also offered a 7 year / 100K miles “platinum” Ford service contract for an additional $3,495. I have asked for more info but all she could tell me was that included everything except windshield, tires, and brakes. I don’t have a gauge if this a good or bad deal. Help… I’d like to phone a MTC-friend. If it helps I’m in SoCal where everything is expensive (we call it the “sun tax”).
I call it the Democrat Socialist tax. Anyway, looks like you will be paying $3,495 for four years, the first three years is manufacturer warranty. You have to ask yourself if it’s worth $3500 for oil changes wipers etc. It wouldn’t be for me.

Ford ESP is good at any Ford dealership coast to coast, does not matter who the selling ESP dealership is.
Yes but I was curious so I went to FloodFordesp.com and put in California and it said they couldn’t sell you a policy due to California law.

Final offer was $2500 for 8yr/120K ESP and $1650 for 10 services at 7500 mile intervals.

I declined both but for now have only contracted my truck and will go back Monday to pay for it. Technically, I could still re-contract if I wanted to.

I had an extended warranty on my Cmax hybrid. When the transmission went bad (was a Ford known problem) was declined because of ENGINE oil drops on underside of engine. So much for warranty as any excuse to deny coverage with no appeal. FORD coverage is no different per service reps.
What does engine oil drops have to do with a transmission? 2 totally different fluids 2 totally different components.

I am so open to this. Family roots keep me close.
I'm in Texas. In my family the family "discount" is regular price if you buy it from us. If you are employed in family business then you are paid 12% less. When you graduate high school you can stay at home until you graduate college or trade school and then if you are still living there you have to pay pro-rata share of utilities, taxes, insurances, groceries, plus other stuff. AKA "you are big boy time to grow up". (Girls get off easy, they can stay home until they get a job and then only get hit for some groceries but they are pressured to get married incessantly). That's the way it was in the 1960's until when we moved out. In the past I refused a job offer that would have been 230% more than I was making in Texas that required moving to California because the $$$ wouldn't pencil out!

I am in CA too (NorCal Bay Area, where it is even more expensive). I negotiated with my dealer and got 72month/75K coverage for $1,800. I was okay adding on the coverage, as they were really awesome about honoring MSRP, but I was not going to pay their original asking of $2,900 for the coverage. Took about 2 minutes of negotiating and being honest with them, that I was willing to add coverage, but not at their asking price. I even pulled up the Flood pricing and said it sucks that I live in CA because otherwise, I could get this pricing.

Hearing all the good things about Granger I'm surprised they would "work something out" and sell a discounted Ford ESP on a vehicle registered in California when California apparently prohibits it...

the warranty follows the vin as far as i have read in many forum's, not your address.
Yes, warranty follows the VIN.

Doesn't California prohibit the sale/purchase of Ford's discounted ESP from out-of-state sources ( Granger/Flood Ford, etc.) for vehicles registered in California?

Bad deal, go to floodfordesp.com it’s way cheaper than that. Like under $1500 and you can add tires etc for a bit more.
Wow I was looking for something like that so I applied...sorry Charlie, California doesn't allow out of state warranties.........grrr. Ah well, guess that goes with our $6+ gas. Thanks, Gruesome Newsom.

My dealer’s version of Platinum was about $6k (!!!) though they were also offering ceramic coating, PPF on the front end, oil changes, etc…. I passed on all of their offerings, fully aware ahead of time of Flood Ford’s ESP pricing. A 10 year 100k Premium ESP on a brand new truck was roughly $1500. You do have your first three years to decide to even buy the ESP warranty or not.

I was concerned about costs rising in the future, which yes, everything gets more expensive, but I ran my numbers on Flood Ford both using “under 12 months” of ownership and 300 miles, vs. under 36 months of ownership and 30,000 miles. The (current) cost difference was roughly $400 more if you waited. Not much difference to me.
I never get the extended warranty and get a new vehicle every 3/4 years BUT the way car prices are going don't think I will be able to do that anymore [retired]and reading some of the posts about the problems and possible problems with the maverick I did it.
PremierCare 85000 miles, 8 years, rental, towing, lighting, 100d, I had 210.00 in points never used paid 1505.00 it would of been cheaper but had 8k and year and half on the vehicle. If your going to get it do it sooner better than later the older the vehicle gets and the higher the mileage the cost go's UP. IT took about 3 day to register with ford, Thanks Granger.

Pass on it. They just trying to get more money for themselves. I’ve read that some go for some type of package and then have issues with claiming. I did not add any.
