Um, it was you who stated: Small turbos make more torque. (period) Now you clarify, more TQ than HP. Ok, except, NO.

It's not that simple. Like all engine components, turbos also need to be sized/spec'd to the engine.

Smaller OEM turbos are more efficient, and spool quicker, building boost quicker, making peak TQ at a lower rpm, exactly what you want in a truck.

But guess what, if you want to make substantially more HP & TQ, upgrades are in order, including a larger turbo(s).
I never said small turbos make more torque then big turbos now did I. That was you putting words in my mouth.

I don’t need no tutorial from you, I’ve built a couple of NA vehicles in to turbocharged vehicles on my own fabbing my own stuff To make it possible and tuning them.
On top of owning multiple factory turbocharged vehicles That were modified by me.

Large turbos are for dyno queen bragging rights or all out drag racing.
Small to medium frame turbos are what you want on a DD.

Hey guys, I just wanted to add a small update on the graph shown. I talked to 5 star a couple days ago, and the low line is 87 octane stock, second line is 87 tuned, and highest line is 93 octane tuned. So we don't know yet what the difference between 87 and 93 is on the stock ecu programming.

Anyone running the 5 star tune yet? Before and after 0-60s?

They are not tuning hybrids. No power to be gained.
Understood. I'm just really curious what the torque figure is on the hybrid.

I used 5 star tunes on my old 3 valve for 80k miles before selling the truck. Tunes were excellent and safe. Added line pressure for shifts was a major improvement also. Only issue was I needed to return to stock to pass the smoke test. I used the 87 performance tunes daily and the 93 tune for track nights. Great guys to deal with and they answer the phone.

I am as well, because I currently drive a 2013 C-Max PHEV and love the instant torque, sometimes when going up a hill and get that glass-smooth asphalt, I can floor it running about 15MPH and it will spin the tires until the traction control kicks in....maybe that's why I don't get high mileage life from my tires
