Could be as simple as changing the camera app processing priority from whatever it is to real time just like you can do in a windows computer. Won't change the resolution though and may effect another app(s).

Funny my 13yr old F150's rear camera was glitch and trouble free with sync zero.

For those who are hoping for a hardware upgrade, dream on.
I'm always dreaming. ;) While they are plinking code on the keyboard, maybe someone could put a bug in their ear about turning up the brightness from the max 50%. That would be awesome.

Fun fact: Though Chrysler has the most total recalls (39) in 2024, Ford (37) had the largest percentage of potentially recalled vehicles: 36 percent, or over 3.6 million vehicles, according to data from the NHTSA.

As long as Ford's mobile service can do the fix, I'll try not to sweat yet another recall too much.

I've not had an issue with my 2024 Lariat back up camera. I disagree that it sucks or that it is shitty. Does everything I need it to. I suspect that the OP is a little like the some of the off road guy. The truck either does everything perfect or it sucks. No in between. Tells me you don't know how to properly evaluate.

Could very likely be the difference between Sync 3 system that you have in your Lariat and the watered down versions that are on the XL and XLT. Or maybe even certain settings or what you have on at the time (radio, phone connected, etc.). Every morning, backing up in my driveway, the video feed stops for a short time and then refreshes. I accepted it as normal, although, I haven’t seen the same problem in my other Ford vehicle. It is a bit surprising if all you do is look at the camera, one moment you are far away from an object and the next you are almost right at it. I know what to expect so I’m fine, but would love if there was a fix.

Unfair to compare the SYNC 3 in the Lariat with the SYNC whatever in the XL and XLT.

I used the link provided above to find out my Maverick is on the recall list but no fix is yet available. I no longer have use of the Ford app as my iPhone 7 is out of date so consequently the app has quit working.

Just checked my Ford Pass app. Looks like my 2022 is on the update block. I think this is number 4 or 5 at this point.

Get back from a week camping to see this, and it's on my recall page on the Ford website. That makes it 10 recalls now. 🤣

It will be extremely difficult to fix this via a software update of the hardware processing power is not adequate enough.

Lag, freezing etc. seems more of a hardware issue than a software one.

They will try but I think it will be difficult.
You may be right and I agree this truck's computer hardware is inadequate . However, I have had computer applications that were prone to freezing & lagging that were solved by software updates.

I only posted what was in the Recall notice in my Ford.com account.

I just received an email from my dealer & Carfax. About the Frozen rear camera recall. I've actually experienced this but only one time. After turning the truck off and letting it sit overnight. Then turning it back on in the morning, reset it. As far as the email, there is no remedy for the repair yet.

You all can blame me. The same day I got around to scheduling a mobile service appointment to come to my house to do all the other recalls from the past few years, this one popped up........sigh.....awesome.

On the "Guide to Buying a Used Maverick in 2030", item # 1 needs to be "Ensure the dealer has performed all 237 recalls".

It covers 22-24 Mavericks, build dates 3 Feb 2021- 28 Nov 2023. Over 140,000 Mavericks involved. (They do sometimes adjust the date ranges...so the number of vehicles involved could change).
My XLT FX4 with 03/24 build date definitely has this issue as well. In reality, this recall should apply to any Maverick with the "Connected Touch Radio" (non SYNC 3) head unit.
