Look at my photos from two posts above... Clearly the Navy Pier was represented as Grey in those doctored photos. Ford misrepresented it on their website through the Build app.

Even screen captures of me running the 360 on both.. Look at the glove Box... shown as a Grey, not blue..

So here is full disclosure: I ordered my MY2024 Maverick with the Black Appearance Package (I dislike the XLT and Lariat stock interiors). I know what it is. It could be better, but I accepted it for what it is. So, I'm not anti-BAP, but I am annoyed by the way it was represented and I knew some buyers would feel tricked.

But based on how it's represented on the Ford's site, I could understand someone not feeling like they needed to second guess the photos and keep researching.

I recall in 1995, my wife and I were ordering a Civic LX in Hunter Green w/ the Tan Interior. Dealer said if we would take a Maroon one w/ a Grey Interior that was coming in, we could get it faster. He didn't have a Grey one to show me, but did have a brochure photo... So okay, that's what I went by and didn't see another image until the car came in months later. Photos Honda published were enough for me.

I can appreciate why the OP would have just looked at the Ford Build site, noted the obvious differences in color that the photos represented.. and figured that's what he was getting, one with allot of grey. I can understand his disappointment, and appreciate why he didn't think it was necessary to continue to investigate the color of all of the interior plastics.
And in real life in some types of lighting parts of the blue plastic look gray. And the top of the dash looks a midnight blue.

So when you buy the ‘24 black and get blue plastic are you still going to be upset? If you read the BAP portion in your link it says “black accents” and all trim levels will still be the blue - you are on a site here that many people have been using over 2years now & are trying to explain no change. Again I’m sorry you can turn it down/if you did buy it then you can sell it and order a ‘24 model and not take that one either it’s your choice😉

Should have consulted Kenny:

I think allot of you are enjoying your 20/20 hindsight a little too much. See allot of shade being thrown at the OP....

We all know that when MY2023 Order Books opened in mid September '22, the only reference we had to the BAP was the heavily doctored photos on the Ford Build site (shown about a day before order banks closed too) that made everything appear grey / black. You had 5 days to try to find out more about it before placing your order. Ford was totally dishonest in the way the BAP was presented. Many of us were shocked when it arrived, especially for the XLT (where it was charcoal grey apholstry, not black).

That said the OP did have time to research it later and cancel it as the true nature of the BAP was revealed (what it really was as opposed to what we all thought it was). However, seeing that he literally joined today, he probably wasn't scouring the interwebs looking for information on the BAP; afterall he had the Ford photos on the build site.

To this day, I'm shocked the BAP photos still remain as misleading as they are on the Build site even for the MY2024 XLT (at least now they are showing the rear armrest). It still is a gross and intentional misrepresentation. I imagine all of the apologists will defend it before being 'stylized'; but the fact is it's an intentional misrepresentation of what $1695 (plus the required lux package $ now) delivers.

I don't think it is bad as a misrepresentation as you think. The seats are a bad misrepresentation however - that isn't OPs chief concern - which is the blue in the interior. The doors, armrest, and dash all appear correct to me.

So you never looked a interior pic online...? Never noticed that the interior color is clearly called-out on the Ford specs...

I love how consumers never take the effort to get information for themselves, then blame the business/manufacturer/etc when things aren't as they assumed. "They didn't tell me!"
I am a service advisor and this is the story of my life. The thing called consumer responsibility does not exist. The way some people react when you question them on some of the most basic things they should know or do as an owner is like you just slapped their wife/husband right in front of them

I never paid too much attention when I checked the BAP box. Noticed right away when taking delivery, the blue hue. Oh well could have been worse. When I'm driving eyes are focused on the road, so I never really see it. When in the house doors are closed so I don't see it then.

If I was really concerned would have bought something in the 50k range I could have done the matchy matchy thing. But the Maverick is a entry level vehicle. I'm happy..:)

I do get what your saying regarding the Ford builder not representing things very well. A lot of people were mad about Cyber Orange for the 22s because no one had any realworld photos and the Builder makes it look like the Copper Orange color the Ranger used to come in. When people started seeing Schoolbus Yellow, they flipped out. Same thing with Hot Pepper Red not really looking red but more orange. I did the same thing with Alto Blue. I orignally ordered my 22 with Alto Blue but when I saw in person how much darker it was I changed.

Granted that was two years ago before anyone could see what a Maverick looked like in person. OP knew they wanted a Maverick and should've done a little more research. Especially when they had probably 10 months before getting a build date to see if its really what they want.

Agreed - some people are so concerned about the design of their taillights or grill, etc - yet I sure as heck can't see them when I'm behind the wheel or sitting in my house. I'm not one to sit in the driveway and stare at my vehicles.

Mine is a Lariat in HPR and I like the various shades of blue and brown. Perhaps not what my first choice would have been, but a nice break from the standard dark gray. At least for me .

That's my view of it as well. BAP gets rid of the ugly white stuff, orange stuff and bowling shoe look; so that was enough for me. I would have liked the BAP to be a bit more, ummm, wide spread, but I did my research and was still willing to buy the BAP. Of course I did my research, becuase I'm a huge nerd. However, not everyone is wired like me.

Threads like this make me so happy I no longer have to deal with the public.
I understand folks who just looked at the very doctored photos and said.. yeah.. mostly grey/black... Ford knew people would buy just based on the photos and not decipher what the descriptions were implying; customers are visually impacted. I'm sure Ford figured on the backlash from a few buyers like the OP and determined it was a calculated risk they could handle; especially as they took $1695 from each buyer. Costs and benefits of dealing with the public.

Honestly my main concern I could move up th Lariat Lux, Get the BAP = no brown interior... :) The shadowed headlight and tails light other black trim all good.

The lack of real interior pictures is hurting this thread greatly.

So my '23 blacked out mav arrived saturday. Never got to even get in one before then. So why is my "all black" mav outfitted with some gross blueish ugly interior? Is that all they offer? I mean it looks horrible inside :(
Driving black cars for 30 years, when I seen the interior of the maverick I said it's not going to match the black so I got the carbonized grey and matches great.
