More HP 24. Better climate controls. Better colors. Not ugly Front.
Owners love their existing Mavericks without the features on the 25.
Go 24.
And I have zero use for the bigger screen..
I agree with you 100%. My 24 Lariat AWD 4K tow is perfect and since its the 3rd year of production Ford has most bugs worked out. With the 25 you better bet there was some cost cutting going on and what is with the 13 less HP? Oh I forgot a extra smog filter that cost $4k to replace. No thanks. 10,500 trouble free miles so far.

I always assume that Ford cuts costs but I can't imagine 25 model years would have more cost cutting if anything I would think maybe a little less. When the first generation came out they didn't know how well it was going to sell otherwise they would have charged more for it. Seeing that it's a big sale success now and getting a lot of attention I would imagine if anything they would put more money into quality control. Especially considering the well-publicized issues they've had

I have a '22 and have never been tempted to upgrade to a newer model year. Yes, there are things I would love to have in my XLT, but for the price point I got, the truck was practically a steal.

What do I wish I had:
Keyless entry
Push button start
Adaptive cruise control
Larger screen with Sync 4 and wireless CarPlay

With that stated, the only thing that might convince me to order a new Maverick would be a Plug-in Hybrid option under $35k.

Huh? Many projectors have a much wider useful beam than reflector lamps. Halogen projectors were never the greatest, but HID and LED projectors more often than not have some of the widest beams out there. Of course the width also traditionally comes with larger projector housings, so we'll see what Ford's projector beam pattern actually looks like soon.

Unless you just mean a shorter, wider beam? Less glare above the cutoff.

I'm hoping for similar width but better throw with the lariat projectors.
My understanding is reflector headlights produce a bigger beam pattern that covers a larger surface area as opposed to projector headlights. The illustration below is from the UK so in the US the pattern would be flipped.

The only thing available on the XLT is Ford Co-Pilot360 1.0 which is the older system. The 360 camera and Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 are standard equipment on the Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo so it's not even an option to select. Perhaps you were thinking about Ford Co-Pilot360 1.0 which is an option on the XLT but does not include a 360 camera.
Thank you. I'll keep her 22 XLT, she loves it and it's loaded with a moon roof too. I only wanted the 25 because of the 360 camera (we are getting older, thought it would be another safety feature). Phew, you saved me 35 grand:)

It's possible they're talking about glare, rather than any usable light (for visibility to others). The widest beams I've ever seen were from projector headlights - especially HID with 3" or larger diameter projectors. Some headlights will light up 7 lanes of traffic (3 lanes next to you if you're in a 4-line highway and in one of the side lanes). Reflectors are good for about 4-lanes lanes (lane and a half next to you).

Projection (can) also more easily throw light further down the road too, rather than light up the useless first few feet in front of the vehicle - this is not only good for putting light where it's useful, but lack of foreground lighting will also allow your pupils to dilate more, giving you better visibility all around. Of course this also means your eyes will be more sensitive on oncoming glare when you're cruising in the dark and come upon an opposing vehicle.

All that said, most projectors aren't much better than reflectors - there are some good reflectors, and there are some poorly-engineered projectors. I think the <2025 Maverick LED headlights are pretty good for a reflector - cutoff and all. Biggest letdown on most automotive headlights today is poor CRI, but that's mostly an issue with offroad in the dark. Of course most aftermarket flood lights are even worse on the CRI than factory HID and LED headlights. Not everything should have horror-movie grayish casts ;)

But the port injectors are supposed to fix the main issue with direct injection - carbon buildup in the valves
Think we're off track here, other person implied it was only port inject. Also, Direct injection STILL leaves the issue of fuel diluting the oil unfortunately.

I know what you mean, I have a Space White on order as well and I was thinking how it's growing on me as well, didn't like it when I first saw it.

I'm excited about the availability of Space White; I always liked it. I think it will look great on the 25. I've been very happy with my 22 XLT FX4, but I'm super excited for my space white Tremor. To be honest, I love all the new additions. I'm looking forward to the larger screen, the B&O sound system, the Tremor interior, and especially all the off-road features. I'll miss my CG XLT, but I'm ready for some lux here in Baja.

If you don't have the 24 yet, I'd just get the 25. The screen and wireless car play is enough for me.

To be completely honest, I'm playing with the idea of down grading from a 24 Lariat to a 25 XLT to get the features that work best for me and none of the extra that isn't bettering my experience.
Does the 2025 have adaptive Cruise Control in the XLT?

no, so the post you're quoting would be talking about giving up ACC, vinyl seats, B&O audio and so on.

well, okay but the engine still ALSO has direct injection.......we're not talking about the hybrid 2.5 here
I know. One reason I like the 2.5 more. No injectors in the chamber. No super high pressure fuel system. No carbon on valves.

If you are towing, the reduced horsepower on the ‘25 should be a factor for the decision. Bells and whistles be damned, give me all the power you got!

I really wonder if they detuned the new 25 2.0 because of transmission issues with the 8F35
