I know what you mean, I have a Space White on order as well and I was thinking how it's growing on me as well, didn't like it when I first saw it.
Yeah I ordered a Space White Lariat too. I actually really like the new headlights compared to the 22-24s. Theyre much more sleak and much smaller. The strange space below them was odd and concerning at first (as I can only see bugs splatter on it) but it has grown on me. I was in the same boat as most a year ago when I ordered an XLT when the banks opened for the 24s, then changed it in December to a XL the day I got a build date, the XL is supposed to be built this week but I found a dealer last month that had every car on the lot at +5% below msrp cuz the 4th of July weekend "messed up their quota for the month" so I jumped on a Cactus Gray XLT for $1400 under msrp and Im happy. I might keep it cuz the color is no longer available but I want to see when the 25 is actually going to arrive. (The 360 camera and lane centering is all I really want)

How is it a Flop. It has all the improvements most people wanted. I will most likely be trading my 22 in for one.
I'm getting the new version. I don't see what the fuss is about, but then I purchased a 2022 cyber orange. Love that color actually. And love all the new features the 25 has to offer. If all goes well, I will still see my cyber orange 22, as my brother is buying mine and I'm getting the 2025.

I want to thank everyone for their replies and thoughtful input. I am still having trouble deciding, but I definitely feel like a lot of this has been very good food for thought. It's a shame there's been such divisiveness; given how well loved the Maverick generally seems to be.

I feel like I would love either version, I just need to decide which features truly matter at the end of the day.

My biggest concern with the 2025 is how well the new headlight designs will perform.
The pre 2025 LED headlight design performed quite well. Now that the 2025 XL/XLT headlights are smaller we will have to wait and see how they come out in the iihs testing. Also, the Lariat now comes with projector beam headlights so that will be a big difference. While projector beam headlights are brighter they have a narrower beam pattern that might take some time to get used to.

I think the 25 ROCKS!! The Pro Trailer Assist is a game changer for me! I also like the other upgrades to the 25 such as the 360 camera, bigger screen with sync 4 and Eruption Green color!!!
Maybe because I've ordered one now, but I think the space white with BAP is slick too. (Minus the racing stripes...)

Looks great. I just traded in a 23 (white with BAP) for a '24 hybrid. That green is sharp!

If the 2025 does indeed have port and direct fuel injection then that's another plus. Not having to clean valves ever is worth a lot to me
there's no if.

in one thread someone who is either a Ford tech or buddies with one posted pics of the exploded diagrams. there is most definitely a fuel rail and port injectors.

I asked for the diagrams of the gas particulate filter system and they didn't reply, bummer.

I'm going to wait until I see a 25 in person and test drive it.

I wish they had dynamic headlights like my VW has that turn to illuminate the bend. I've really gotten used to them

The port injection is more than that. It's simpler ans less trouble prone.

That will be a positive IF its actually true, the current specs Ive seen from ford on the MY25 2.0 don't show that, not to say their marketing docs are 100% fact. Lots of false stuff on internet, good or bad. Ive seen where the new mustang got an updated 2.3L that is both port and direct injected, but that engine is not in the new ranger which does not include the port injection, so engines are not the same currently across the board, no idea why not

I am currently on the fence between the '25 and the '24. I have a '24 Lariat Ecoboost(4k Tow) on order that is 100% my desired spec. However, despite the appearance issues with the '25, I am tempted due to 2 factors:

  • The 360 Camera
  • Co-Pilot 2.0

(I'd love to have the Tow/Trailer Assist, but it's not needed so I'm not really factoring that in.)

Can anyone with these features on other Ford vehicles enlighten me on their quality, and if I should even consider passing up the 24 for them?

I'd love to get my Maverick before next year, but if these features are worth it I would consider biting the bullet.
My wife has the 22 XLT AWD with the Luxury Package, etc. I was thinking about getting her a 25 XLT because of the 360 camera, the 2.0 upgrade and the larger updated screen. It adds up to 35k plus state tax. She's on the fence about it. But if she wants it I'll get it for her and either keep the 22 for a spare or give it to one of our adult kids. It's so hard for the next generation to get ahead these days, with the cost of everything. Once a dad, always a dad, I guess.

The Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo are the only Mavs with the 360 Camera and the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0.
