I will go on record saying I believe they will go to Sync 3 for XL and XLT Maverick and Sync 4 for Lariat Lux.

+1 to this.

pretty insane the AWD gets 43/37
And the FWD gets 44/37

I would switch
The maverick mpg numbers are with 900lbs in the bed. Makes more sense doesn’t it?

Based on what Ford has done with other models the last couple of year, I would expect them to de-content MY23.
Which means, take away features. Some move from standard equipment into packages. Might see additional packages for those items.

I would not expect to see new features. There is zero reason for them to do that. They will have plenty of catching up to do, with orders that didn’t have those new features.
Also, kind of too soon to be adding features to a brand new vehicle.
Maybe if there was a feature that was planned but then dropped just before production for some reason (e.g. rear defroster), but I don’t see it happening.

Look at Bronco Sport. The ’22 did not get new features, and they removed things as simple as fog lights as a Big Bend standard feature.

They even did things like reducing the passenger power seat adjustments (i.e. removed power tilt & lumbar) from the Edge Titanium package.
Maybe that was for shadowing chip issues. But heck, they also removed the 4 way tilt headrest; which has nothing to do with chips.

My 2 cents

I expect slightly higher MSRP, bumps on accessories & packages, no additional features, and a bit of de-contenting of some packages. Spray-in liner will become totally standalone, not in any package, as may also happen to some of the more intensive chip-content packages.
No change to grilles, badges, but perhaps some new wheel styles and a couple added/deleted colors depending upon demand.

If gas prices keep rising the way they are, that will all we'll be able to afford to drive.

I agree with those that feel a few de- contenting will happen just so they can get them made. With people lining up by the thousands to buy they don’t need to make any changes for the new model year. They need to work on higher production numbers.

can you link to more info on that?
There was a discussion with an article back in September-December when the epa released numbers. (OKTB) I’ll see if I can find it.

I'd be surprised if there are changes. They have massive demand. Maybe more colors but that is likely part of the plan already and not a response to what we're asking for.

Ford likes to change something every year, and my guess would be either a PHEV version, or adding AWD to the Hybrid models. Of course, if the chip shortage continues, expect items requiring additional chips to be dropped/de-contented.

And there was big news a few months back, that Ford entered into an exclusive partnership with a US based chip manufacturer, to help remove the reliance on out imports, lets hope that arrangement comes to fruition sooner than later.
