I wonder if they'll upgrade the tow package to 5K to match the Santa Cruz.

That would require mechanical changes, so I doubt it. Besides, at some point you run into the "tail wagging the dog" territory, where even if a vehicle can do it you start to really notice how much weight is behind the vehicle compared to the vehicle's own weight. The Maverick is quite light for a truck, and that's a good thing. Heaviest trim is listed as 3,731 lbs, whereas say a Santa Cruz Limited is 4,164 lbs, a good ~400lbs difference.I wonder if they'll upgrade the tow package to 5K to match the Santa Cruz.
Ford already increased prices though before cutting off orders. Most of the hype surrounding the Maverick is revolving around its great bang for the buck value proposition. Wouldn't be smart to increase prices again.I expect Ford to raise prices, because costs of materials and labor are rising, and Ford cannot meet current demand. If there are many requests for something simple, such as hard points for roof racks, those may be offered standalone or bundled with new "overlanding" package. Making wiring harnesses more modular, and easily dealer installed optional rearview mirror features, etc. may make it more desirable and thus profitable.
File this under crazy throw anything at the wall and see what sticks prediction. So Ford spent all the time and money to develop a new small pickup. It proved to be wildly successful, and as a result of that success, Ford is discontinuing the product?I have a weird feeling the 2023 model is going to be cancelled and the Maverick will be discontinued because they are uncapable of fufilling existing orders, having replacement parts in stock, and "chip shortages".
It happens. They also didn't need to experiment with the 2022 Model Year to realize it will be massively successful. Make a new Truck under 20k that gets 40MPG and it will obviously sell out. Now that they know people are paying up to 40k for Hybrid XL's on the secondary market, they might make them more expensive and add some dumb features too. Have you listened to yourself?
So first you claim Ford is discontinuing the Maverick because it is too successful. Now, you say they're going to charge more because it's in very high demand? It happens. Which is it? (Hint: only one of your predictions makes any sense.)
That takes hideous to a new level."It's hard to believe they're actually considering releasing Ford Maverick Tourino Edition..."
