Doesn't seem like anything to worry about. Looks like a manufacturing issue from a very short window of time.

"Affected vehicles: select 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid models produced between April 6th, 2021, through May 17th, 2021, at the Ford Louisville Assembly Plant.

Number of vehicles affected: 155 vehicles."

Sounds like they traced a manufacturing defect to a small batch and are able to identify the 155 affected vehicles. Traceability is very thorough these days! Could happen with anything, and it's no more relevant to Maverick than if GM had a similar recall. Nothing to worry about.

Aren't the Maverick engines built in Mexico?

The hybrid engines are built in Mexico, the EcoBoosts come from Valencia, Spain, or Cleveland, Ohio. Not sure which they're using at Hermosillo. Valencia also builds the hybrid engines but I believe those stay in Europe.

This recall doesn't provide any reason to worry about anything but a small batch of Escapes. Unless you want to worry about every other component that could have a defect but 99.999% chance is perfectly normal.

That does not seem like many. Still, I hope they get it resolved quickly and that the affected people are safe.

Looks like Ford has now recalled the Maverick Hybrid. Not to replace the crank.. but to drill holes in the splash pan so that IF you have an engine failure, you have less likelihood of an engine fire. But no word on actually replacing the crank.
Because the issue with the crank was with 155 Escapes. NOT THE MAVERICK!

Nice.... That's awesome. Yet several online articles seem to point to engine failures. I wonder why?

Because, as I said in the Maverick recall thread, the mainstream media is conflating all these individual issues into one giant (non-existent) recall and warning people not to park their Ford vehicles inside because the engine might catch on fire. No one reads or understands the details, they just see a headline and freak out.
