Driving today and out of town. This problem comes up again and now an airbag light... not pleased. 26k 2022 hybrid. All the dealers have a service backlog 23weeks scheduled. Then once it gets in there may be a 2-3 week wait... not what I expected from a new vehicle.
Drove my 2014 prius...
Understand.... Took delivery in June. XLT hybrid no adds... My dealer told me any adds could cause a potential delay. Bought a 25$ receiver at harbor freight and just drilled the rear crash bar then bolted it up.... For the 100$ extra I woulda just added the option. But I didn't...
Funny haha... I have a TDI Passat that gets 50 on long trips and low 40's in city.... I've been driving it half as much cause the Mav tells me I've been avg 70mpg on the way to and from the grocery store when I use the bake coach and practice hypermiling..... Probably about to list the TDI...
So we've had it for 4 months... Great truck... But I can't park it in the garage cause it needs the splash pan drilled. But that's ok because I seem to have an airbag recall... Now I see a not on tail/brake light recall too...
Moral of the story? If I get rear ended cause the brake lights...
Good question ⁉️. Check yours when you get it. It probably has more holes in the splash guard. I am still curious to know what's causing the engine failures leading to this. How do we know if we have the possibility of a part that can lead to a failure?
Looks like Ford has now recalled the Maverick Hybrid. Not to replace the crank.. but to drill holes in the splash pan so that IF you have an engine failure, you have less likelihood of an engine fire. But no word on actually replacing the crank.
Yes. The articles I've been reading state there has been an identified manufacturing issue. Others identify the crank as the issue. So I guess we just drive them with the holes drilled in the splash pan(recalled solution to the fire issue but not addressing the crank failures)...
6-8k$ I calculate he paid 15k over after tax etc etc.... I mean we don't know what he put down or if it was an all cash deal but DANG... I walked away at 27k out the door with dealer ads on an XLT....
This is exactly why my truck will be serviced at a local independent shop until they get all the bugs worked out... Noones holding my property hostage.
I probably would have duct taped it and told them to call me when they get a tank... This is why I'm hesitant to take mine in for the random Clunk and grab when stopping. Did they at least put you in a service loaner or a rental?
