I know the ultimate swap is the Corsair 2.3,
But the 2.3 head. And ford performance cams should flow pretty good amount better.

Anyone considered doing this ?

when you say ultimate, the first thing that comes to mind is that the 24-up Mustang 2.3 and Escape 2.0 both have port and direct injection, which the MY25 Maverick is also getting. that's such a big advantage for fueling and I think that selling an existing Mav and buying a MY25 is going to be by far the cheapest way to get into that new motor.

but to answer your original question, I have no idea how any of the older 2.3 heads would work with a 22-24 Maverick 2.0 but considering the material, installation and tuning costs involved, I would think hard about a complete 2.3 instead of just a head and turbo swap. whatever is done needs to be compatible with the stock ECU to keep drive modes and other functionality.

I think he may be on to something. Cams are not the same but the who head setup Amy be cool. Would even open up the option for a focus rs turbo to be mounted. Give much more headway for hp over even the upgraded corsair turbo.

I'm not sure what 2.3L head you guys are referring to, but the 2020-2022 2.0 and 2.3 share the same part number for Escape, Edge, Explorer, Bronco, Nautilus, Ranger, Maverick, Corsair.... I looked on Ford OEM parts online. I didn't look at the Cam part number though.

Hi. Sorry for my ignorance, I come from honda's world, and normally ppl like big engines with smaller heads, ar least that was a thing many years ago.

Example : a B20 block with a B18 head, a or B20-B18 with B16 head ( civic type R), B is the serie of the engine and the number after that is the size of displacement of the head, B18 is a simple way of saying serie B 1.8 liters, B20 isa 2.0 liters, and so and so.

Is a different here, and if it is why ?

Thanks in advance.

Generally with the Hondas the chamber is smaller on the smaller engines, so going with the smaller displacement head bumps up compression. I also think the B16 head flows crazy good compared to a factory B20 or B18 you would find on your standard CRV or Integra.

In our case, the 2.0 and 2.3L share the same head.

No, it has a larger stroke. That is the only real change.

Just go bigger injectors vs dual injection?

We won’t need fueling on these.
The weak link will more likely be the hpfp like on the rs. But I’m over 500whp and running e85 with just direct injection. So these trucks should be cake to fuel.

Back when I had a Honda, folks were putting the K24 heads from the RDX on the K20 blocks in their Si and RSX.
