  1. Mavrick vs Toyota Stout

I've seen the thumbnails for the 'new hot Maverick killer' from Toyota, Subaru, and Chevrolet. Each and every time it's just a badly photo shopped Maverick or Santa Cruz. Until they produce an image of at least a prototype I won't believe they exist as anything more than a paper concept. I...
  2. Couldn't pull the trigger

If your primary concern is going to be being able to fit inside, you could use the current model Ranger as a proxy. The cabs are very similar in size. While this won't give you any real idea as to how hard/ easy it is to get into and exit the vehicle or driving dynamics, it will at the very...
  3. It’s officially a lemon!

Lemon laws will vary by state, but typically; If it has been in for the same repair 3 times or has spent an excessive period of time being repaired (varies a lot by state) it is eligible for a lemon law claim. If you are looking at possibly taking this route, please consult a local attorney.
  4. Rival news: New 2024 Tacoma to feature Hybrid and Turbo 4 Cylinder engines

Thank you for putting quotes around the midsize adjective. They are full size trucks in my opinion, and full size are over sized. The proportions are getting ridiculous, and we can blame the federal government and the CAFE standards for it.
  5. Dealer service complaint

What fog lights are you using. Been trying to find some that fit even remotely well, and coming up short. Would love to see what you have once you've installed them.
  6. Are the hybrids problem vehicles?

I have an XLT Hybrid with nearly 8k miles. Only issue I've had is a dead 12 volt battery, which I think may have been my fault. Other than that, I've been enjoying an average 38mpg in a pick up. It's not the best single vehicle I've owned, but it replaced two vehicles as it does the job of both.
  7. Rumor: Toyota RAV4 Truck Will Tackle the Ford Maverick for Revenge

I don't hate it. Would depend on if I could get it in a PHEV and price. If it costs $8k more than a Maverick, they can keep it.
  8. 2.0 EB Transmission just said goodbye

If you so desire, you can do the following. Have the truck towed to your preferred dealership. Inform them that the time spent there waiting on them will count toward the time necessary for a lemon law claim. (Note, I would verify this with a lawyer first). I would also inform Ford Motor...
  9. Pleasant surprise of owning a Maverick

The Maverick is based on the same platform as the Escape, which has ICE, HEV, PHEV, and EV all as options. I don't imagine it would be that difficult to modify the Maverick to at least allow for PHEV as there is already room for another battery in the same spot as the existing one on the...
  10. Pleasant surprise of owning a Maverick

Wasn't really expecting it once I got my Maverick, but anytime I come across another owner there is always a wave and a smile. One time I ran into another owner at the gas station and we had a nice brief conversation. It's kind of like joining a small club of really nice people.
  11. Your age / occupation?

Early 50s and Control Systems Engineer. Got my BS after 20 years in the Navy.
  12. List your Awesome Maverick Dealer Here

Lee Ford in Wilson NC. My sales rep was Aaron Strickland. Only paid MSRP, and got a $500 veteran discount. The truck got dropped off overnight, and they called me first thing in the morning. Picked it up that afternoon. The dealership was very patient and took great care of me. They were...
  13. Huge delay in my shipped Truck :(

Been waiting for mine awhile as well. It shipped out of the plant on March 17th. Sat a very long time in Arizona, and was in Petersburg VA. as of Apr 23rd. Dealer says it should be here by the 28th. Funny/ not funny thing is that Ford originally said I would have it by Apr 13th. Ha, that...
  14. What comes next for the Ford Maverick? (Jalopnik article)

I could see a king ranch trim level perhaps. In addition to the more common things mentioned previously.
  15. Velocity Blue Maverick with 2" Rough Country Lift and KO2s

Thanks, this helps a lot. Enjoy your new truck, I know I will when I get it.
  16. Painted my Steelies Black & Silver Bi-Color

Looks real good. I can really appreciate a simple and inexpensive upgrade that people can do at home.
  17. Velocity Blue Maverick with 2" Rough Country Lift and KO2s

Looks good, and I'm glad you are enjoying it. I will be getting my truck mid April, and I've got a question for you seeing as you have the FX4. What are the dimensions of the openings for the tow hooks? I am looking at putting the FX4 bumper on my hybrid and installing fog lights, and I want...
