I purchased the Ford Rollup cover with my new truck. The first time I washed the truck, there was water inside the bed. I posted this on this forum, and someone from Ford responded asking me for my vin number, name, etc. Ford gave me a case number and told me a representative would get back to me in a few days. Ford never got back to me. Not hearing from anyone, I wrote back to Ford and they just ignored me.

In addition, I tried to contact the manufacturer of the cover, and they would not even talk to me. They said I must deal with Ford concerning the leakage.

I decided to add some extra moulding to my truck hoping to stop any further leakage into the bed of my truck. Yesterday it rained. Today I rolled back the cover, and many items in my truck were soaking wet. The bed was wet in all four corners. The small carpet piece I put In the truck was soaking wet. I had to take all items out of the bed of the truck and put them in the sun to dry.

I agree this top is not 100 percent leak proof, but for $1200.00 it should not leak as much as it did when it rained yesterday.

I know Ford monitors this site, and acts like they are here to help us, but in my case they have done absolutely nothing to help me.

Yikes!

I wouldn't expect it to be water proof either but that looks like things are getting seriously wet back there. How hard/much did it rain?

It rained heavy for several hours. Stopped, and then it rained again. I was surprised how much water was in there.

Same issue. My OEM supplied hard roll up leaks at the tail gate interface. I guess I’ll go to the dealer to see if they can sort it out.

There are some fairly large gaps at the tailgate with tonneau covers. I have the aluminum roll up cover (factory one -backflip 2 or something). Mine has been out in the rain and I have washed it quite a bit but it only leaks at the very end of the bed along the tailgate. My cover was second hand and the seals weren’t in the best shape and it still doesn’t leak like what you are describing. I’d see if your cover wasn’t installed properly or isn’t tightened down enough.

Shortly after I bought my Maverick I was at a local truck accessory dealer and asked him for his opinion on the cover I bought as part of my truck. I was having the same leaking issue.
He took a look and said it just needed to be adjusted. If you look at the mounting points for the cover closest to the cab, you'll see there are slots to be able to adjust the cover forward and back. My assumption is the installer at the factory (or the dealer) didn't want to hear complaints about the tailgate being tough to close because of the tight fit to the cover, so they install them a hair forward at the expense of a leak at the tailgate.
Give it a shot- it doesn't take long and may help.

As a side note, I also inquired about replacement weather stripping for the top of the cover, where it meets the side rails (I think mine was cut too short on the rear and there's too much overhang on the front. I was told it's not available from the manufacturer, so that's a bummer.

There are videos showing how to add weatherstripping at the tailgate because there are openings the covers don't cover.

Thanks for the tweak update!

I am having the same issue. My Maverick was ordered with the hard rollup cover. If you could let me know the fix that would be great.

The factory tonneau is the same as the BAK X4S, so you might want to check the fitment of the rear of the cover and the tailgate. It is possible to "set" the tonneau cover too far forward and there's a sizeable gap between the rear of the tonneau cover and the tailgate. A simple fix could be just to adjust the position of the tonneau cover towards the rear of the vehicle a few millimeters. Check this video from RealTruck on tips on how to better weatherproof the rollup cover.
