22 Maverick Hybrid 4,000 miles on it! The 12 Volt battery under the rear seat is used to power the electronics correct? Does that battery also start the Veh or does the hybrid battery start the veh? I would also like to know what the voltage reading should be on the 12 volt battery after sitting a couple of days in the garage? Thanks so much have a great Weekend!!

Start by reading all the posts about "Deep Sleep". Ford does some really strange things, and allows that 12 volt battery to get way too low (in my opinion), below 12.0 volts. My 2023 has been in service for exactly 1 year.

I'm getting ready to have my first service, and I'll tell Ford to check the battery (load test it), and I'll probably tell them that throughout the warranty period. It stays in communication with Ford way too much.

Mine has constantly gone into deep sleep, seemingly at random times, but it has never failed to start.

Technically it's a bit of both. The high voltage battery actually starts the engine, but there needs to be sufficient 12V voltage for the electronics to power up and to close the contactor to energize the high voltage system.

You are correct, the 12V battery powers the electrics including the ECU and fuel pump, not sure what the minimum voltage is for that to work but the 12V battery can be charged, jumped or replaced. However the engine is actually cranked by the HV battery via a MGU in the transmission. If that goes dead, if for instance it's been stored for a long period there is no easy way to get it started. There are aftermarket chargers for HV batterys but they are expensive and not simple to hook up. I belive fully equipped Ford dealers can charge a HV battery.
Ford recomend running the engine for 15 minutes every 15 days. Not helpful if you are going to be overseas for 6 months!
I've speculated that if you could manually crank the engine it would start with a dead UV battery - starting handle anyone?

Correct. The 12V powers much of the electronics on the truck. It also closes a relay that allows the ICE to start up from the HV battery, when needed. Because it doesn't need the amperage to actually start the ICE, the Hybrid's 12v battery is smaller than the one on the ecoboost.

The Hybrid's HighVoltage battery powers the electric motors located in the eCVT (transmission). The ICE is frequently starting & stopping in city driving and other situations when needed. To the driver or passengers, it's usually not even noticeable that it has started or stopped.

If you’re going to be away for a long time (like 6 months) you can start your truck using the app from anywhere. So that could be one what to start it when you’re away for a while.

12 Volt Battery Question? 22 Maverick Hybrid 4,000 miles on it! I never saw the Deep sleeping message in the ford pass app and never had an issue starting the truck even after 2 days sitting!I Did a voltage check on the battery after a nice ride it was 12.6 2 days later after sitting locked in garage and ford pass disabled I did another voltage check on Battery it was 12.0 12.1 !! Truck started fine at that voltage! I changed the battery to a non ford heavy Duty battery and the same thing is happening SOMETHING is draining the battery big time! This was happening with the Ford Battery and now the new heavy duty 12 v Battery! I dont get it!!
