Lighter socket inverters usually top out around 180W to account for commonly being rated for 15a. The Flexbed points are fused at 20a, but that doesn't give much more headroom (~250W).
You're right, thanks for correcting. It's +/- 250w you can get out of a 20a circuit, not 400w. I edited my original post
There is no way for the Maverick hybrid to run a 2,000 watt inverter off of the small 12v battery. The Maverick hybrid does not have an alternator so it won't matter if you have the engine running, you still won't be able to provide enough current for a 2K inverter.
The linked thread in the post you quoted shows several people doing exactly that, with tested results.

This is just incorrect… rather than having an alternator, the hybrid maverick has a DC/DC step down from high voltage to the 12V bus.
In thread long long ago. It was posted that the OEM inverter acted as if it was a split phase modified sine wave. Said his electrical buddy said that since a vehicle has no true ground (the rubber tires isolate the body ground from the ground ground) the 20 amp would provide steady dc current to be split between each of two load lines. Since it's an inverter and not a transformer each load line can be out of phase with each other. Each line will be AC outputting 60 volts. (Thinking of the 120 volt plug black wire being 60 volts to green body ground and white wire being 60 volts to green body ground the load lines will appear as 120 volts. This is the same as the 120 wiring to 240 in your home except it is 60+60=120. The circuit is derated from 250w possible to 200w load to protect the wires and the inverter shares that current for each leg. (No way a true sine device would see this as usable current.). In any case this is how the 120 volt output is at 400 watts while only using part of a 20 amp fuse. Check out split phase inverter!
