Ford Motor Co. utilizes the dealership model order verification system developed in conjunction with local DMVs to prioritize the customer wait time through the dealership allocation model. In this model, each unique customer order is placed in a production que in chronological order according to dealership prioritization code and the inverse of when the order is placed to the nearest minute. This generates a priority code separate from the dealer code and is then used to ensure the main psychological effects of waiting for months for a vehicle can be recorded in order to commit these people to a proper facility where they can be monitored for wavering brand loyalty and dissention.

In the event that it appears customer loyalty is waivering, dealers may offer an incentive in the form of a water bottle or towel to appease the angst of waiting. In addition, customers will be offered "Ford Points" they can spend ordering other items they will then have to wait on. The intended effect is that customers will soon discredit competing auto manufactures that have transparent ordering/production processes and will encourage the customer to seek out manufacturers that have perfected the wait period.

What manufacturers are those? I've seen same problems on Jeep and Chevy order experiences although not to the same degree because they haven't had a vehicle that was in such demand (some years of Corvettes were close).
