Probably going to forgo the "24 Maverick. 1. Price increase. 2. Time constraints, I just don't want to wait 9 months to a year. 3. '22 worth less when the '24 gets here. 4. Area 51 not available. '22 was $29,500 delivered. The '24, equipped the same, looks to be $36,000 delivered. I'll wait for the '25 and check again. I'm thinking there will be a model change, hopefully for the better.

What do we think the odds are of ordering a MY24 XL Hybrid and actually you know... having it be built?
My original plan was to go with a Hybrid XLT for ~$30k out the door, which is not tenable with the increased prices. I would rather not switch to the ecoboost if I can avoid it. I'm not sure if the price increases will encourage people to switch to the ecoboost, or just drop down a trim level.
Odds will be better, if you can place an order with at least two dealers. I had my GF to do this on the last go around. It's good that she did, because one got built, the XL. The XLT will be pushed into a 24 build. Which is the one she really wanted. But since owning the XL, she's grown attached and really likes it.

Time will tell if she'll give it up for the XLT.

Quite bad indeed. 3K is a huge percentage of the MSRP. At well over 30K after tax for xlt hybrid, without options, it would probably deter quite a few buyers. I'm hoping the private offer covers the entire increase, as my xlt lux hybrid order turns into previously lariat money, which is considerably less palatable for the same product... The maverick is built to a bottom line, and the new pricing seems to be pushing it into "overpriced" territory in my opinion. The maverick is so good because its cheap...

Least expensive hybrid escape is in the ballpark of $34K with better tech, interior materials, and likely NVH. When optioned similarly, the maverick is now in the same ballpark despite the lower quality standard it is built to. The 2023 pricing seemed pretty fair for what you're getting, 2024 seems to be swinging the other way to me.

At the new prices, I'd expect actual sync w/ better speakers, the nicer gear selector with stops, keyless on xlt, more sound deadening...

my loaded up 2017 fusion sport, built in the same factory, cost me $34K, (about $43K in todays money) and it was a significantly better vehicle in every way than even a fully loaded lariat mav with all the options, for what would be around the same money now...

(heated and cooled seats with alcantara inserts, driver assists, 2.7ecoboost awd powertrain, 12 speaker sony sound w/noise canceling, active suspension from lincoln, etc. etc.)

I'd say your odds of getting a MY24 are better than a MY23 considering that a) Ford has said they have increased Hybrid capacity and b) the price increases on the hybrid models should tamper sales somewhat. Hybrid engine is no longer the "no brainer" it was before.

Well, one way to balance supply and demand is to reduce demand. These price increases will reduce the demand as other vehicles become a little bit more comparable price-wise and some, with better quality/options:(

My '22 Lariat EB with 360, "full size" spare, inverter, and trailer hitch was $28,750. Now 36,450 base price.

Also financed at 0%........
fine if you can afford the payment over 36 months. Most cannot.

Yeah I hope you're right. I think i'll go for the Hybrid XL and see what happens. I might order from multiple dealers like @Gmood1 suggested, but I bet the wife would put the kibosh on that :ROFLMAO: Its certainly not a need in my life, just a want as my current vehicle is running fine even if she is 14 years old so if I have to wait, I have to wait.
The only thing that might persuade me to the ecoboost is the AWD, but still on the XL trim. AWD is very enticing given I live in the northeast with a 500 foot driveway at 10% grade.... But its a hard sell in my mind to give up the gas mileage just for that.

I understand that. Thankful that I can. I was only trying to point out that higher interest rates plus the price increases may reduce demand because many people may not have resources to now buy a Maverick. Sad, but true!!:(

Order one of each and let the chips fall where they may. lol
I also ordered two Mavericks and received both about two weeks a part.

If you don't end up buying them. Someone else will in your area, that's guaranteed!
But if you don't order, then your chances are as good as winning the lottery.🤣

You know the Escape and Fusion aren't trucks, right?

I don't understand the shifter complaints. Yes, it is different...but now that I've had it a while, it is nicer. I never accidentally put it in Low or Neutral.

Spin that sucker to the right, you're in Drive...without ever looking. Spin it to the left, and you are in Park. Spin it to the left, then 1 click back to the right and you re in reverse.

I stopped having to worry about even looking at it about the second day of use.

I laugh every time I read about people who want more options in the truck, but object to a price increase. The fuel economy, price and ability to haul small loads sold me the truck. I didn't need the power or comfort others want (and get with a 24 Lariat) or Platnium/King Ranch F-150.

I adopted the trucks capabilities into my needs and driving style. The pro far outweight the cons. I waited til it arrived at Long McArthur and added door molding, hood deflector, ceramic coating and a tint bar above the AS-1 line on the windshield.

The truck might not be for everyone, but it's perfect for my lifestyle.
