I always keep this handy if my gas flap or hood get stuck. 😉

🤣 if a teen were to read your comment. They would wonder, dropping drawers and they would picture this.

Go back thru the carwash, hot water followed by hot air dry will probably melt the freezer. Then do the blow-dry suggestion to push away remaining moisture.
Then..let your truck get dirty until spring.
This.
Or find a warm garage somewhere to borrow for a while.
I wouldn’t pry or put chemicals on my paint. But that’s just me.

Spray with wd 40 prior or silicon spray . when I lived in Ohio I always sprayed all door gaskets with silicon spray to prevent sticking during freezing weather .

Did you try peeing on it?
A high wind was blowing right into the OP's face. He had learned from previous experiences and a famous song: "You don't pee into the wind, and you don't mess around with Jim". At least I think that is how it went...:wink: It also can be so cold in NY that the stream freezes before it hits the intended target and can even freeze back to the source which is when you need the fireball suggested earlier!!!!!

Huh? It can be used for the fuel door I guess, but it isn't mentioned there:

*Edit: Based on what I know about the thickness and durability of paint on the Maverick, I wouldn't dare use a hard plastic anything as a pry tool in body panel gaps.

A far better guess would be that the little plastic tip goes on the end of the tire tool and is used to pry the XL lug nut covers off. ;)
This is what I was referring to. It is hybrid specific, but it may be on the ecoboost jack.

Weird. My MY23 manual doesn't look anything like that; the image I posted is from the same page range (178-179).

I don't think I have that piece in my Ecoboost, but if there are Mavericks out there with that tool, I guess it's a sanctioned option. I would still be wary of the delicate body paint.

In about 1970 at Christmas time, I drove from California to South Dakota. Many of the roads had been salted, so I went straight to a car wash. Both doors froze shut and the windows wouldn't roll down. I spent the next couple of hours locked in a heated garage.

Okay I go to the car wash every other day. The temp in upstate NY has been in the teens. My gas door will not open. I have a XLT Eco .. No buttons or cables. You just push the gas door and it is supposed to click open. Any ideas on a easy way to get the gas door open?
I take my Maverick though the car wash about once a week. Even though, I don't live where freezing is a problem, I always open the gas door and dry it with a rag.
