Ford Dealership Installed my Hitch Incorrectly

Got my hitch installed today. I was so excited until I noticed they i stalled it incorrectly and now I have to take it back and make them fix it. Oh and replace my bumper because they did some custom work to it to get it where they put it... Not amused.

Which they told me was exactly the same as the OEM part, so I expected it to be installed the same way.

They lied. The Curt brand product is pretty close to the OEM one, tucked-up within the center cutout.

Well that's irritating. We will see what they have to say hopefully tomorrow. Yes, I did order the aftermarket, but they gave me the info that it was the same part so...

OEM all the way. That's how I roll.
I added the cover panel and the flag plug.
Now if you can get Ford to remount the hitch in the proper position.
You can take the cover plate that's just above your current hitch and precision cut the openings for a factory finish look.
You'll end up with something that looks like this

You purchased an aftermarket hitch then took it to the dealer for installation. IMO the install looks pretty clean so what more do you want?

I want it where the hitch it supposed to go...you know in the cut-out Ford made for it. I bought the aftermarket from Ford after they told me it was the exact same part just not made by Ford.
I didnt buy it and bring it to them I bought it from them.

Yep I don't blame you, I'd be pissed as well if I paid for something and was told it was going to be the exact same as factory. I'd be right back up there making them remove it and install the proper part or take that shit off and give me my money back.

More than likely a salesman sold you something that didn't know his ass from the hole in the ground.

I can remember years ago on my new '03 Chevy Silverado LT after 6,000 mi the steering shaft splice had to be replaced because they used a cheap plastic splice that would make a knock when turning instead of a metal one after the mechanic did to repair the morons installed the steering wheel upside down.

My bad, I thought you purchased the hitch online then took it to the dealer for installation. I didn't read your OP correctly....sorry. Anyway, I don't know what recourse you have at this stage but I hope it works out ok for you and you get a resolution you're happy with.
