If you could go back to 2022 original Maverick pricing, what would you do?

Actually, exactly what I got. I'm not a Ford or Maverick fanboy. Far from it. But it grew on me. Still has two doors too many, but I feel like I got way more than I paid for with the XLT trim with AWD, LUX, CP360, and SIBL. Mine was $30,500 out the door. In inflated dollars, I feel like I stole the truck from Ford.

Prices for most all other vehicles are also several thousand dollars more than they were in 2022. It's all relative.
That's true but it's hard to find that level of increase from 22 to 24 in others. And $5k increase on a 20k vehicle is a much bigger percentage than $5k on a 40k vehicle.

Base no option XL Hybrid in 2022 was $19,995. Same truck today is $25,670. So looking at over 25% increase. I get they likely came in low and with the Hybrid as the standard engine to drum up sales. But I've not really seen an apples to apples base price (not a car doing away with a base trim), and over 20% increase in that time.

HaHaHa!!!
I would buy 5 Hybrids and then resell them at slightly less than the current MSRP, and make an absolute killing. The average price is almost double now.

I had 3 Saab’s
Man do I miss them!
My 9-5 is my third one. This one is 23 years old with 200k miles. Its a shame what GM did to Saab

Pretty much same as I did. I have a 22 XLT hybrid with lux package and CP360. It was 28k out the door (no taxes but included ~1.5k in overseas shipping charge).

I felt that it was the sweet spot for price / features. Hybrid was the base engine at the time and the lux package had more in it than it does now from what I can tell.

Plus it was the height of the craziness with dealer markups and buying through the military meant paying the same as everyone else which was $500 under MSRP and a good deal at the time.

Would have ordered as many as the dealer would allow in variety of trims, colors and options. Then sold all but my existing one.

Actually, I did end up ordering another in 2023 and sold it for a hefty profit.

I would have bought a Lariat with the Black Appearance Package in Area 51!

I'd be perfectly happy with the $19,999.99 XL model and getting my own 17" alloy wheels from discount tire, saving the steelies for winter tires if I move further north. Personally I like sync3 /w physical buttons for most things, none of the driver assist stuff besides auto high beams, and cloth seats.

It would be interesting to see what the distribution of trim sales actually is for the Maverick. I think if Ford could sell a no-frills base model hybrid Maverick and Escape in the low 20's (what people actually paid w/o taxes), jeez, it would be like the Model T days just cranking them out as fast as possible to willing buyers.

they didn't offer it in 22, but you could've gotten black wheels on a ecoboost first edition in area 51 paint.

Wow. I thought for sure that was an option a few years ago. I guess I was confused and compared it against the First Edition Package.

Still, I would have gone Lariat if the pricing reflected 2022 pricing. I paid $34,600 (plus taxes and fees) for my 2024 XLT FX4. I really loved the Area 51 color (did not want to pay extra for Azure Gray in 2024).

I would have gone to Long McArthur Ford in Kansas instead of my local dealer in Georgia. My order suddenly couldn’t be found about 8 months in. I’m pretty sure they cancelled it by mistake. Has to wait to 2023 MY and placed an order with local dealer and Long McArthur. Long McArthur came through and even got me the rebate for the 2023 price increase. My
Local dealer did nothing.
