My Ford salesperson called today to inform me that Ford is substituting the drop in bed liner for the spray in liner. I have an XLT ordered with lux package which includes spray in liner. He said you can’t remove the drop in liner from the package and no Ford $$compensation. He suggested me taking out the drop in liner and selling it then find a shop locally and have a liner sprayed in.
When was your order made? I was told and confirmed by several sources that existing orders that included spray in liner like myself will get a spray in liner....

Agree!

Drop-in liner looks way too aftermarket and I’mPAYING for a spray-liner. Make it the way you sold it.
well technically its not "sold yet" marketed yes.... I agree I went for the XLT LUX for ALL the features of the package.

Sure hope that is the case and that it remains the case. I really don't want to have to throw a drop-in away. I hate needless waste.

You are correct, looks like now that the Luxury Package with the Spray-in Bedliner is closed out and there is a second Luxury Package showing in WBDO (ordering system) with Drop-in Bedliner. Looks like if you order a Luxury Package now it will come with the Drop-in Bedliner instead of the Spray-in Bedliner.

This won't affect any current orders that show the Spray-in Bedliner on their order sheet. If your order sheet shows Spray-in Bedliner, that is what you will get.
THANK YOU TIM!!!
REPOST INFO PLEASE

Your dealer should tell you what is and isn't possible. Until a definitive answer is provided this is all hyperbole.
yup. They SHOULD! But what I’m beginning to realize is a lot of the fog being generated is coming from the dealer, not Ford! My dealer took my $500 and then basically became useless. They promised me paperwork I never got, a VIN I never got, and endlessly-repeated statements that, ‘you will get your truck.’’ That statement may be true, but "The universe will end" is also true. Ford has failed us in several areas, the most obvious being communication, but in many cases it’s just that they too are victims of the times. The dealers have fewer excuses. As has been pointed out, we are NOT buying from Ford. We are buying from the dealer. The dealers should be giving buyers a constant flow of information. “OK, you ARE in Ford’s system, but the reason you don’t yet have a VIN, or a build notice is that we only have X number of allotments, and we still have not put you into one of those slots, in spite of our promises ( and we sure are glad we can keep a lot of this information to ourselves, and offer you empty promises, so we can hold on to your deposit and get the rest of your money 6 months from now).

I don’t think my dealer is going to screw me - intentionally - but they are screwing me, because by the time I drive this vehicle off the lot it will officially be a half year old, and my cherry little trade in will take a big hit because officially it will now register as another year older when I try to sell it. When this whole circus began a lot of promises were thrown at us. The reality has been something entirely different. Still, this is my fault for going here at a time when a lot of people smarter than me said, “this is the worst possible time to buy a vehicle." Ford is really holding all the cards. If there was ANY other choice available right now that was as good as the MAV, I would be out of here in a flash!

We ordered on 10/20 from the dealer and had the email order confirmation from Ford that evening. We made changes to the order on 11/4 and that evening we had a new order summary email from Ford several hours after the order change. This new summary confirming the changes still shows a spray in bedliner. Sooo… we’ll see what’s in the truck bed when it arrives many months from now. Ford may have the spray in problem solved by then.

This is the kind of thing I see happening frequently on these forums, and yet my dealer gets pissy when I mention it, and they then insist that I shouldn’t believe most of what is said here. They continue to be cold, dead, and silent, except for their never-ending insistence that I WILL get my vehicle (whatever that means)

If your order has not been scheduled with a vin# and you have a spray in on order with the XLT lux pkg… they more than likely won’t schedule it. Your dealer needs to update your order to the drop in. I had to 🙁
Don’t blame the dealer this is a Ford issue
This can't be correct. Did you get your order in before or after the cut-off date (arbitrarily Nov 1)? If after, I can see the dealer being unable to add the spray-in Lux Package in the WBDO (as it was closed out and not able to be selected) and the dealership had to order the "new" lux package with bed-liner.

If you have a signed DORA (build sheet) and confirmation email from Ford, but no VIN then your build specs/option should still be ok and should be scheduled. A DORA is essentially a commitment Ford has made to the dealer that the order would be built exactly how it was printed on the sheet. So Ford should have already allocated the spray-in liner for your order once the DORA was submitted.

Although I guess Ford could say F it and do what they want...¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

I’d be pretty sure somewhere in the fine print it allows Ford to just say F it and do what they want.

Unless they're an EV startup car manufacturers aren't generally in the business of not making vehicles to sell.

Thanks to all! I was at that point of accepting having the hard drop-in bedliner. From your postings, I now know why not to accept. As much as I want a Maverick, the potential savings of buying this year to next year will not offset knowing that the bed will be scratched, rusting caused by plastic trapping moisture and will use a moving blanket to help arranging heavy items. Going to do it the right way - going to the dealership in person and asking to be put on the call list when spray is available……heated seats in MN….not a need…a must. A shout out to Tim at Long McArthur, he is working it hard in helping all of us. Kanas is not that far away…….

While I was waiting for my deposit to go through on the cc I went back over the order sheet, (XLT with lux package). It said drop in liner. I questioned the salesperson. She checked with the owner and sure enough no more spray ins. At least for now. I also don't like the look of the cheap plastic liner, (let alone hearing of water and what not getting trapped underneath the damn thing. I spoke with the owner and he said he'd split the cost of the local guy doing the spray in. They use Bullet which is uv stable and has a lifetime warranty where as Ford's is only 3 years. So only have getting boned ;)

Does splitting the cost include taking out the hard drop-in?

Man this has turned into such a hot topic. If the spray in is such a constraint I wish ford would just come out and say it. I’ll switch my lux package from the spray in to the drop in in a second. Especially if it means getting my truck sooner. Then I can just get a spray in done when it gets here that will probably be of better quality with a better warranty.
