Absolutely, I didn't mean that an outdated builder is acceptable. I meant only that the fact that the builder still shows spray-in doesn't disprove Tim's (and other's) statements that it's no longer part of the package.
Exactly,
Let buyer beware. To me this is why a forum like this is valuable to all.

Talked to my dealer just a bit ago. They weren't able to get a response from HQ about how it would effect my build, but If mine gets changed to a drop in they told me they would cover sending it to linex locally.

Thats all I can ask for really.

Hell, I just checked the builder and its still allowing 1st edition builds as well.

Definitely more of a guideline than anything else.

My Ford salesperson called today to inform me that Ford is substituting the drop in bed liner for the spray in liner. I have an XLT ordered with lux package which includes spray in liner. He said you can’t remove the drop in liner from the package and no Ford $$compensation. He suggested me taking out the drop in liner and selling it then find a shop locally and have a liner sprayed in.

My dealer said not to order the spray in liner as they are not up to par compared with the dealership doing it. Dearly normally charges $650, but will only charge the $499 offered when ordered. Glad to have read this post. I almost insisted them ordering it from Ford. I switched from the Hybrid to the Ecoboost as it fit better with the speeds I drive. Dealer said it will most likely cut my wait time from 6 months to 3 months. Hope so.

It's always weird to me to see people spend over $20,000 and compromise multiple ways. The bedliner is one thing, but compromising on an Ecoboost when you ordered a hybrid is strange.

I want exactly what I ordered, period. The only compromise I'm willing to make is not buying the Maverick at all.

I’m going into my third silent month. I hope you’re right!

I'm with you on that. What's the point of placing a custom order except to get exactly what you want? I pared my order down to what I wanted that could only be had from the factory, no more, no less. Bedliners, bed racks, tonneaus, all the accessories that could be had on the aftermarket got knocked off the order. If I really want something I can buy it after the truck is delivered.

Looking at the speeds I drive 85% of the time, 50 to 75 mph, caused me to rethink my choice of the Hybrid. I feel driving at those speeds the advantages of the Hybrid are lost. Besides, I feel the loss of MPG 29 to 33 at highway speeds is not to much to loose while gaining nearly 60 hp and better passing ability, reviews show the Hybrid lacking in that. So my my engine change was due to my usage, not wait time.

I had to make the same assessment. For a couple weeks I tried to be conscious of just how and where I was driving. In spite of the promise of high MPG with the hybrid, the truth was that the 2.0 best suited my actual driving experience. Besides, at my stage of life I will be lucky to do 6,000 miles per year, primarily because I work on my own property. By the time I reach my next 5-year trade-in cycle i figure that if I am still driving, that will be the time to go all-electric. The technology will be better then also. So I may be about to enjoy the last ICE experience of my life! The only thing that really disturbs me about the EcoBoost is the GDI design, but i am unlikely to ever put enough mileage on the vehicle to suffer the down side.

A drop in liner is a poor substitute. I expect a spray in liner with my Lariat Luxury or they can keep the thing.
I just moved south from northern Michigan. A friend had bought a 2010 Ranger brand new and had a drop-in bedliner added to it. Last year he was having some of the rust on the body taken care of, when the body guys noticed the bottom of the bed totally rusted out, under the drop-in bedliner. Now I know this is Michigan, and they salt the roads quite well in the winter months, but I would be leary of putting in a drop-in bedliner in any snow belt area's.

You are correct, looks like now that the Luxury Package with the Spray-in Bedliner is closed out and there is a second Luxury Package showing in WBDO (ordering system) with Drop-in Bedliner. Looks like if you order a Luxury Package now it will come with the Drop-in Bedliner instead of the Spray-in Bedliner.

This won't affect any current orders that show the Spray-in Bedliner on their order sheet. If your order sheet shows Spray-in Bedliner, that is what you will get.
Wow, I guess I narrowly dodged that bullet. I don't want the drop in at all.

If your order has not been scheduled with a vin# and you have a spray in on order with the XLT lux pkg… they more than likely won’t schedule it. Your dealer needs to update your order to the drop in. I had to šŸ™
Don’t blame the dealer this is a Ford issue

30 yrs ago, I was told that before you drop in a bed liner, you grease the heck out of the bed, to the point where the liner is riding in a bed of grease. Water WILL get in between. This somewhat mitigates it’s effect.
