My guess: Ford makes decisions and never really shares why…
My plan is to toss the plastic bedliner in the garbage if I can’t get some sort of credit and have it sprayed. Not the most economical way, but it’s my plan.

I apologize if this has been answered. I'm a mid aged retired veteran and I read thru without seeing an answer. Is the spray in cancelled because of a constraint or issue specific to the Mav? All the spray in dealers near me say they have no shortage. I realize Ford material needs are exponentially above local shops.
It is due to constraints. :(

Called my dealership cancelled the spray in liner and protective film, as I would like the truck some time early next year, will see if this helps get a build date?

Looks like I made it in under the wire with my Lariat+Lux build - but if they reach out and offer to drop the spray-in for $500 or so off I wouldn't mind; local place can do LineX spray-in for about that and from what little I've read it might be better quality. Any idea the UV protection from the Ford one?

If your order has not been scheduled with a vin# and you have a spray in on order with the XLT lux pkg… they more than likely won’t schedule it. Your dealer needs to update your order to the drop in. I had to 🙁
Don’t blame the dealer this is a Ford issue
This smells like bullshit. Ford isn't just going to chuck a fuck ton of orders in the trash. If the package changed, then they'd change it for you vs making you change it.

Edit: profanity isn't censored apparently. Nice.

FWIW I helped a buddy of mine move the other day and a few friends brought their pickups, I got to see LineX in a Ranger vs. the factory spray in a F250 side by side - the LineX looked quite a bit more durable TBH

I agree with you. Just seems like when you go to buy gas and the pump price is 50 cents more than price out front.

Someone who is not paying attention goes to build and price, orders a vehicle and then gets the Oh By The Way when it arrives.
Your dealer should tell you what is and isn't possible. Until a definitive answer is provided this is all hyperbole.

Yes ones dealer should know and explain everything. But reading through numerous threads thats not going to happen in many instances.

Maybe a dumb question, but if you ordered a truck with spray in bed and Ford can't fulfill it, why would you have better luck after the fact? Wouldn't Ford be able to get the material better than some smaller company?

Not necessarily. Ford orders in huge bulk quantities, a smaller company only needs smaller quantities.

Thats a really good question. I would guess it's a labor issue more than material.

Since upgrade packages include spray in liner there's gotta be a lot of spray ins required.

Making the upgrade packages separate from spray in would have alleviated the constrain issues.

I think Ford got greedy and figured why don't we make the money instead of an outside vendor.

This is me guessing and my opinion.
