I've heard so many people talk about the 12V battery issue with their Maverick so I wanted to share my results.

I drove to the airport and left my 2024 Hybrid Maverick parked their for 7 days. When I returned, I unlocked it and it started up with no problems. The only difference I noticed was the MPG for the trip home was 33.9 whereas my avg is 46.9 and this trip would have been about 45 MPG given it was mostly highway with no traffic. I believe the reason for lower MPG was due to the gas engine running throughout the trip home to recharge both the Hybrid and 12V battery given that it was parked for a week.

All in all, I can say that if you have a good battery, you shouldn't have any problems with your Maverick being parked for days. All of this talk about keeping the 12V battery charged while the vehicle is parked for days is overhyped. If the battery is good, it should be just fine. I received my Maverick in Dec of 2023, and never had any issues with my battery and never need to replace it. Those who did, probably had a faulty battery installed during production.

Why would the hybrid battery drain that much in just a week though? That doesn't seem quite right. I know with my Prius I've parked if for over a week and have never noticed any appreciable drain on the traction battery.

The lower return MPG isn't due to lower battery - 99% certain. Weather or traffic or ...

We left my Mav for 8-9 days at the airport. ~4 days in I received the notification that features were turned off due to low 12v battery. The drive to the airport was 90+ miles.

Truck started no problems. Didn't have interior lights prior to starting was all. Still waiting for that fix/update from Ford. Never had the truck not start, though and until then I'm not taking it to a dealer or replacing the battery with an AGM on my own dime.

My ‘22 hybrid has always started and only the driver side door unlocks by grabbing the door handle. Passenger side door doesn’t open when in deep sleep mode when you grab the handle, and interior dome lights don’t work.
Question: if I delete Ford app from my phone, will this solve the problem?
Thanks!

I am like....who cares????????? As long as the truck starts up faithfully every time, regardless of how long it could be sitting all by its lonesome self. If the app wants to tell me its in deep sleep, fine...I can still start up using the key fob. As always, the truck takes me wherever I need to go.

I have an XL, so the handle grabbing doesn't do anything for me lol [insert inuendo here]

People have deleted the Ford app, turned off all updates in their sync screen and removed the related fuse (#11, I think) - that gets rid of the notifications regarding deep sleep, but it doesn't seem to fully fix the issue. It likely drains the battery less, but people have still reported deep sleep occurs - they just don't get an app notification and instead notice that their dome lights are off.

Mine was built 3 months before yours, and I just had to put in a warranty replacement battery due to sulphation. I religiously put my keyfob in a tin Faraday cage, and that certainly cuts the overnight power loss. I also put it in an insulated garage every night, which is much more kind to the battery than most people storing it outdoors. However, with the battery software error never fully charging the battery, its going to happen to all of them. Watch this space I guess...

Yeah it has always started for me. I don't think I'll get 7 years out of my 12v battery like I usually do in our moderate climate, though.

Every car we own (8+ years old) has had the battery replaced every 3 years. The parasitic drain in newer vehicles takes its toll. They just don't make them like they used to. Every time our cars won't start the battery is just toast. Little or no warning whatsoever. It would be incredibly cool to have a switch in the cabin to just shut the always on stuff all the time off in circumstances like the OP.

Left my 23 hybrid parked for 9 days. When I got in after those 9 days the dome light didn’t come on but it started right up. I know you might be thinking how could I resist driving my Mav for 9 days, well I was driving my wife’s 24 hybrid Maverick.

Try pushing the key fob lock, door handle ridges, or key pad lock buttons twice. That turns off delay items in about 1-3 seconds as well as info screen and dash. The power ports will stay on if they are supplying power. I believe that it turns off communication for key fob until you have finger in unlock position of door handle. I say this because you can walk all around truck with fob and never hear any clicking, after double lock etc. I think the double lock tells the computer that you don't intend use truck for hours so it may not run some things as long as it otherwise would. Again who knows

My 2024 goes into the shop tomorrow. One trip my 12v battery goes from 100% to 30%. It’s probably the battery. I paid for the truck in January but couldn’t pick it up till mid May. I think they just let it sit in the back lot till May and the battery totally depleted. Then charged it prior to my picking it up. Once a battery is totally depleted it will be on its last legs. I’ve been having to put it on the charger every night.

About 10 years ago I bought a cheap digital battery tester from Harbor Freight, and it's been REALLY useful in predicting the end of 12V battery life. My model has since been replaced by this one. It uses a gentle, high frequency method that doesn't stress the battery like the olde school load testers, and measures internal impedance in milliohms. This is used to calculate Cold Cranking Amps as CCA = 2.645V / (resistance in Ω). Example for 5 milliOhms: 2.645/0.005 = 529 CCA measured. When this number drops to 80% of the CCA rating printed on the battery, you should plan to replace the battery in a month or two. When this drops to 60% of the CCA rating, you're about to find yourself (or your wife) stuck at the grocery store. Checking my battery every 6 months and tracking the data over time has made it pretty easy to predict battery failure.
Note: The newer tester appears to use 3.000 V instead of 2.645 V for the CCA calculation, so it may well be an improved model that accounts for state of charge better then mine.

FYI I had a 2012 Honda CTV which I gave to my granddaughter in August 2023. The battery's would last 22-30 months. The car would not turn alternator to 14.4-14.6 until the 12v dropped to below 12v when it was started (better mpg if warm ice before loading alternator. You could speed that up by turning lights and fan on to drop the buss to below 12 v. But to counter sulfation I put multistage maintainer on battery for 5-7 days every 3-4 months. Last battery I did that on was in car for 61 months when I gifted it.
