Anyone know what the Ford dealers use for the oil change on the Maverick or does it vary with the dealer?

Service departments should have plenty of full syn 0w-20 and 5w-30 Motorcraft stuff. It's a 99% chance they use what is cheapest in bulk if they can't get FOMOCO brand stuff.

Thanks. I was wondering if all dealers used the same oil as recommended by Ford or, as you implied, each dealer uses whatever fits their budget and needs.

I'm creeping up on 13,000 miles.

Oil Life Indicator 7%.

Blackstone report was good at 10k so I left it in for 2 additional months. I've gone 13,000 in 10 months.

39% oil life, 8300 miles driven. Oil change scheduled for Thursday at home. I'm a sucker for getting a 60k Ford plan, but it sure is easy so far. 7,500 maint. intervals are too frequent. I'm a fan of the 10k change.

Thanks for posting the report! I've been using this oil in our Subaru since they Idemitsu stopped shipping a similar product to the US and did the first oil change on my Maverick with this oil. Both vehicles happed to use the same weight.

Question, will Ford honor it's extended warranty if you change your own oil? My dealer charges $90 for full synthetic.

For decades the Motorcraft branded oil was made by Citgo... I'm not sure if that holds true today.

Not all dealers sell Motorcraft oil in their bulk tanks... but most that I've seen promote the brand of oil they sell be it Motorcraft, Pennzoil or ???

Motocraft oil is made by Conoco. It's excellent oil.

Of course...just keep receipts for the oil and filters. Keep a record of the change date and mileage.
